Realme to release a Helio P70-powered phone soon

25 October 2018
The P70 is a faster version of the Helio P60 used in the original Realme 1. It should be similar to Realme 2 Pro's SD660 in terms of performance.

Anonymous, 25 Oct 2018Their UI sucks but should be a good phone overall. Helio P7... moreUmm... not that high, I'm afraid. This little overclock may regain the level of similarity to SD660, but 670/675 is a totally different beast. The former is using SD710 architecture, only slightly underclocked, while the latter is using 4th gen Kryo cores. 710 is around 20% faster than 660, 670 might be 10%, while 675 15% (just some educated guess as no public phone uses the latter two yet). P70 would be nowhere at their level unless something else is actually improved other than CPU/GPU clock speed.

Arvind7955, 25 Oct 2018Flop as long as microusb is present. It will be a flop if it's priced at some what? 500 dollars? Otherwise things will still go well for them

Cool. Just as I had predicted.

Expecting the successor of the Realme 1 to also be another super-budget hit!

100mhz overclock will not gain any significant boost.
Too small. It should be P65. P70 must be all new. Not just an easy overclock via kernel.

nik.007, 25 Oct 2018Isn't the GPU the same as on the P60? Mediatek finally got ... moreHmmm slightly overclock : 900mhz instead of 800mhz...
On Vulkan API, P70 will probably reach SD660 level...

But I they miss an occasion...they ought to push A73 to 2.4 or 2.5 GHz, add a gpu core and add bluetooth 5.0...with that, a soc like that, they could compete with SD710...let the market know they could do better and they can...and prepare the new Helio X in 2019.
With the P70 they do, they still compete with SD660

Arvind7955, 25 Oct 2018Flop as long as microusb is present. So by that logic every phones ever released or every device with micro USB is a complete failure. If it works it works, not every device needs the newest stuff

Arvind7955, 25 Oct 2018Flop as long as microusb is present. To be fair, it's pretty cheap

Isn't the GPU the same as on the P60? Mediatek finally got positive attention with the P60, they should have tried to improve it. GPU is still closer to the Adreno 509 in the SD636. Why do they want to go back to the old days where just having the name "Mediatek" associated with a phone meant a bad device

Their UI sucks but should be a good phone overall. Helio P70 is pitted against SD 670/675.

Flop as long as microusb is present.
