MD from TV division with good record and turnaround has been post to mobile division. But thing is not looking good. Profit turn to loss then to even greater loss.. what u think sony need to do to recover?
I think they need to focus more on midrange and flagship... flagship is doing good first 2k oled screen and xz3 premium to be world first 4k oled screen. For midrange also good start to use snapdragon processor.
But they need to improve on camera in midrange and flaghip . The price also not to be set to high. higher abit than china brand is ok but not too high 15% more is ok. The strategy to focus on profit than volume is not ok should be a balance. volume also important. The design of the back also funny need to follow trend nowadays. Should participate more with dealer cos now is see many dealer not ordering sony phone compare to last time. Marketing team need to work more.

Didn't even available on my country. I am badly loved Sony phones, but for getting one is another question since not officially available and the aftersales for mobile phones is nothing to be found. So, buying on the grey market is like a gambling.

Really ugly designs, old age. Call them SmartStation, add controllers like xbox is doing. Improve product. Sony in smartphones is already death.

The other divisions are selling are good, even their TVs are good and selling well these days.
Sony's problem is the price and the marketing strategy that they follow which needs to be changed ASAP if they want to succeed in the smartphone market.
Right now, their image is on the ground and the people lost their confidence on Sony because they see no Sony or exciting products they do.
Sony is greater than many company on what they do and honestly, in tech wise, Sony is greater than Apple, Samsung, Huawei but they don't match them when it comes to marketing. Even their cameras are challenging the competition smartphones cameras but Sony doesn't market

Sony is losing because their image is on the ground and I wish they also lower their prices by 200 - 300 dollars because that will help them too
Sony needs to market more and puts so much money in their marketing and PR team
When a lot of media talk about what you do, you'll attract a lot of buyers as Apple, Samsung and Huawei do.
Sony has a lot of technology in their phones and their cameras are the best in this year
Sony needs to market more, they don't care about their image and that's why no one buys them because the people lost the confidence on the smartphones.
Now, Sony needs to do the their fingerprint under glass from their subsidiary company JDI and do Acoustic Surface on the bezel free phone and a front camera under the display and lower their price by 200-300 Dollars so they can sell and market more. After that, Sony will sell like a hot cake.

In the markets where they are loosing customers, there's so much variety and so much value, mainly because of Chinese OEMs (there's no quality entry in a specs list) that offer more attractive options than Sony. And their prices are higher than even Samsung. Then you have in their not-so-bad markets in America and Japan. I can't say for Japan but in NA, their presence is virtually invisible. I only ever seen an ad for the XZ3 once from a regional carrier. Never from the big 3. And then they stopped advertising the XZ3. Even then, they still fail to make their phones attractive. Why offer "only" 4GB of RAM? If the XZ3 had 6 like in other markets, it would sound more impressive than the LG G7, the S9, the P20...

Definitely feel Sony doesn't listen to their fans when it comes to what people are wanting in a mobile phone. They're definitely behind when it comes to other brands. Never see their mobile phones being promoted or advertised anywhere.
