Anonymous, 05 Nov 2018Sorry but here in reality there is no such thing as perfectAlso for the LCD but the thing is it can develop no the OLED who they can't develop and stuck on his situation and having burn ins and can't get fixed from that.

Why are we still debating over LCD and Oled? We should all be proud both technologies kept pushing boundaries.

Anonymous, 05 Nov 2018No LCD doesn't have burn in. But it can get image retentio... moreTrue but when that happens it means the unit is flawed in the first place not the burn in that will come anyways. Besides, the LCD-LED TVs that could have image retention and backlite issues are ones made poorly because in the perfect TVs you won't find those issues and since most the computer monitors are LCD, you won't find that.
But in the OLEDs, the burn in will come to you from any place in the screen and in any time.
The LCDs don't have and since they get enhanced and being integrated technology, the people and the companies will always go back to them

Anonymous, 05 Nov 2018Clearly from a technical standpoint the OLED displays are l... moreFirst of all, OLEDs doesn't have brightness
Second of all, They're not leading the markets, it's what's the companies wants to shove on the market. Because till now the companies didn't show what the LCD are capable of delivering.
Third of all, the normal backlits that LCDs have are the old size ones but their strength comes resizing the LEDs from mini to micro to nano and that's the future and today the companies start with the mini to backlit the LCD which strength the brightness, deeper blacks, contrast, colour accuracy, power consumption and many more.
There is an article says that the new iPhone's OLED display is making the battery to drop and when others compared between the XZ2 and the XZ3, the battery of the XZ2 was stronger and having an LCD.
The LCD can get flexible to a certain extent like being edge like Samsung's phones, (I saw them and JDI has them) and curved in the TVs and Monitors
The LCD also is capable of having fingerprint under the glass, which JDI has that technique.
Yes I know what am talking about and the OLED only showed better work with Hardware like Acoustic Surface Audio and camera under the screen and other things like that but if your talking about colour, contrast and those other things forget about them because now the LCD is going to be upgraded to next level of LEDs. The OLEDs where competing with with the old method of the LCD LED TVs but now, that will be changed and you will see.
I saw BOE's smartphone display in SID display and wow man that was impressive with the miniLED and the HDR display and having a deeper black screen.
OLEDs are a fail because it's only a matter of time for him and all the people will leave that panel for having burn ins
MicroLED is better which is a non organic material and can deliver better results in every aspect where the OLEDs shine. Now I know the microLEDs will be expansive because the process of arranging the pixels is a bit difficult solution but it's there and they will adopt the necessary measures. Few months ago I was reading that some companies found a way to produce them cheaper and in a better way but at the end of the day the companies will make them expansive because they are a brand and being a future technology.
OLEDs are expansive for no reason even a company have said we don't know if it going to get cheaper even after the microLED happens. The LCD is cheaper and will further go down and because it's cheaper and will cheaper than it's current price, it will stay because a lot of companies can do more researches on it and how to make it better since the LEDs the normal LEDs can cheap
So who will die in the process???? The OLEDs.

[deleted post]I just commented as reply to people saying LCD should die or why they make new technology just to match existing one?
Well, because as I stated, existing technology (OLED) has issues.
If there was LCD panel that had same image as OLED - I would go for it over any OLED. Because it won't decay with time. Also, LCD can reach higher brightness. OLED will burn itself if brightness is ramped up.

CRI is not a thing with emissive displays. Not sure what the author was trying to say, maybe gamut issues or white balance issues, but unless you're trying to use your phone display as a reading light for print media, CRI makes no sense in this context.

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2018So calling out your actions is me having the tantrum????
A... moreActions? What actions?
Saying the fact that OLED has burn in?
Saying that OLED degrades over time?
Saying that manufacturers won't even stand behind their product and cover burn in by warranty since it's so common that they'd go bankrupt?
While you simply repeat over and over "OLED is the best!" and fuming with rage at anyone saying any downside of OLED.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2018So you rambling in your own opinion is me having a tantrum???I actually love customers like you. They walk in looking for absolute best TV, and right away tell me "OLED is the best" so naturally I point them to OLED TV. They pick apsurdly expensive one, I try to tell them that by default TV has "cleaning feature" that turns on every night, not to watch programs with static logo for too long, or game or anything... they tell me "It has to be extreme abuse for it to burn in, it just won't happen at home, yours at store have burn in because of crazy retail mode..." some even claim burn in is a myth!
Anyways since they know the best, I just say "Fine" and shut up, and rip them off (even get a bonus for every sale that expensive).
Then they are soon back in the store with their TV - it has burn in, they demand solution for it. Then I just smile, and tell them that they should read better since it's not covered by warranty (because manufacturers would go bankrupt, burn in simply happens).
And "know-it-all" guys get tantrums. Some of them even used OLED TV's as a desktop, ridiculous - right?

KamAbdi, 04 Nov 2018I knew this was going to happen and I have said it many tim... moreNo LCD doesn't have burn in. But it can get image retention. And oled won't have backlight related issues like LCD can have.
It's a two way street there

KamAbdi, 04 Nov 2018I knew this was going to happen and I have said it many tim... moreClearly from a technical standpoint the OLED displays are leading. In brightness, color accuracy, vibrancy, angles, sunlight legibility, blacks, contrast, hdr, overall power consumption, malleability, etc.
To claim you know what you are talking about and then agree with o'Rourke calling OLED a fail and that LCD is still superior in every way when it's clearly surpassed in most ways it's just absurd.

mixa, 02 Nov 2018What's even greater about MLED is that it has much higher y... moreNot only in that but also more consumption in the battery and thinner than the OLEDs in terms of display and can be foldable, flexible and bendable.
The LCD is an integrated technology and it will stay longer time than the OLEDs

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2018Please led LCD die already. It won't die because you people don't understand this technology clearly.
This technology is an integrated technology meaning that it will always be backed by other technologies to be stronger and I believe they're flexible because the curved TV and monitors displays.
This technology is greater than the OLEDs in every aspect and with this miniLED backlit, it will have a deeper blacks because I saw BOE's LCD MiniLED smartphone display with HDR and it had deeper blacks

Excalibur, 02 Nov 2018Why go with mini led when micro led or even nano led is alr... moreBecause nano LED isn't available yet and microLED was in the works from a while in the 2000s, in 2012 Sony showed a microLED it called CLED CrystalLED with a 55' inch TV
Then Apple bought a microLED company and now want to make a microLED iPhone because reports are out and those reports say they made samples of iPhone with microLED displays.
In 2016 and in the beginning of 2017 Sony showed CLEDIS Crystal LED Intergrated Structure or System as they called it. Then in 2018, Samsung showed a a huge MicroLED TV which I think isn't huger than Sony's, in the same year and in it's second half LG showed a microLED and a bigger one than Samsung's.
The nano LED is in the works I think and it will show up in the future maybe after 50 years because the LCD have celebrated this year it's 50 year anniversary

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2018Oled is fail technology. Deep blacks do not exist in r... moreAll what you said are true except of the pentile matrix which Samsung only uses that and there are companies who use WRGB like LG and JDI and JOLED will make RGB printed OLED and BOE and Tianma make RGB ones if I'm not mistaken

gohelvishalp, 02 Nov 2018Seriously I'm tech guy and i was thinking about this on yes... moreCool I'm a tech guy like you and I said this many many times in this site and others the mini LED LCD will have deeper blacks because mini LED is the half of microLED, but no one believed me and if even some have argued with me
