Asus Zenfone 6 prototypes reveal a weird-positioned waterdrop notch

05 November 2018
If the images are real, the front-facing camera might go on the right side, throwing any aesthetics in the trash bin.

This is how notch should look like. It is small, in the corner, so it wont draw attention while using phone.

People are still complaining about this. This is not Pixel 3 XL.

    Thats innovation!

      256 ram , wow !!! All for such a low price....lol

        //shudders.
        The horrors... x.x

          Regardless, I still would have not bought the phone anyway.

                              Is this Asus sarcastic ads? Asus trying to convince everyone how horrible the notch is by triggering our ocd. And its going well. Now, more hatred towards the notch. Notch city is going down.

                                      Although still a prototype, I have high hope of Asus. Think of it this way, if the post writer got the PDAF sensor thingy right, then we could be looking at the next photography beast: bigger "real" pixel size since the focusing pixels are not on the same sensor.

                                        I know that the camera placement looks to be an eye sore, but I just thought of a positive for it.

                                        During video calls on Whatsapp , the video stream of the person we are calling is on the right side. In normal devices with camera at the centre , we tend to look at the person on the screen (i.e. to the right side) . The other person gets the impression that we are not looking at them but somewhere else. That will not be the case here, since bot the camera and the video stream will be on the right side.

                                        I know we can drag and drop the small video stream's rectangular box, but rarely does anyone place it on the centre....usually its either the left or the right corner.

                                        What do you folks think of this logic ? Can you think of some other reason to place the camera on the right ?
