It is not just about copying or just innovating but "never take risk" attitude, always play safe, play expensive ! People have become tired of such brands in the recent history like Nokia, Blackberry, Windows Mobile etc

    Bixby must die.

The last Oracle, 08 Nov 2018The Sole reason Bixby cannot be successful is due to Google... moreNow all the companies will be using android until 5 years because Google have said after 5 years the Android will be replaced by Fuchsia OS. In that time, there will be a crossroads between the OEMs and Google. Either the OEMs take Fuchsia or make their own OSes.
Samsung have their Tizen and I think they will use theirs a for the others and could be possible that they go with Fuchsia or go with Sailfish because Sony, Oneplus and other Chinese phone use Sailfish OS so develop on them.

The Sole reason Bixby cannot be successful is due to Google abusing its monopoly.

Samsung need a to acquire duckduckgo as well as Create platforms for AI and Search that channelise customers, based on products and services.

Also they should constantly keep improving Tizen to be able to replace Android if the need be. Android had closed itself to development of Tablets (no real improvements in the Last few updates) and that is becoming an issues. Also the Android architecture needs more customisation optimised per device, instead of through skins and layers.

my only concern would be that you have more things to fix (extras screen, flex, amoled burned in) we'll have to wait how strong is the screen, if it can resist multiple drops. will the inside screen would break? or if the outside will be made from glass and inside plastic, I would be very impress if Samsung makes a phone that is bold durable and easy to fix, and still be ip68.

And being able to hopefully make things a little better when you copy them.... especially when you do it later on and anyone would be able to improve it... doesn't make you an innovator.

An innovator improves it and makes it better. Samsung Semi has been making mildly flexible panels for a few years now, but until now Samsung Mobile only used them to make 'edge' phones. Using the technology to fold the display connector under the screen was an innovation on that tech with more practical benefits, and a repeatably foldable screen promises far greater benefits.

JOHN, 07 Nov 2018just wait for it the chinese and other companies will follo... moreNo one is first yet. One company is selling a limited number of very rough prototypes for 'first' bragging rights, and Samsung has only just teased a model it is not yet ready to market. Others have demonstrated proof-of-concept devices and prototypes as well over the years, but not one has launched a proper consumer device yet. Foldable screens are very much still a 'coming soon' technology.

It's not enough to be first, you have to be first with a 'good' implementation.

                                  1. Since the Samsung phone has 2 screens, the smaller screen should consume much lesser battery for normal use. Thus last longer than a large phablet or tablet.
                                  2. Be a lot more pocketable when folded.
                                  3. It has a slight size advantage when opened.

Samsung need a to concentrate on:
                                  1. Better speakers for Dolby Arm is kind of surround sound Experinece especially in the Tablet Mode.
                                  2. Ensure that Cameras are common between the modes like on the ZTE model.
                                  3. Durability should be top-notch and the folding mechanism should be firm and non-flimsy. Plus locking at the 2 stages.
                                  4. Create software and apps specifically to address the 2 modes, especially the larger one. Would Love to be able to Edit Videos and Photos on the Tablet. Maybe a Higher Specced quadcore or octacoee processor with a better GPU and cooling. 5. Samsung need a to Collaborate with indeoend developers to ensure that Samsung phones, phablet and tables make the most of Apps in the Play Store. Right now, the Samsung API isn't really completely open to developers and that is why there are issues with having 4k video on MOST Samsung devices with independent apps (like Cinema4k, Open Camera etc).
                                  6. With accessories making LONG before tha e phone hits the shelves. This phone needs All sorts of accessories to make the experience great.
