OnePlus 6T came out and there are so many Poco F1 hate videos in YouTube Suddenly... Click-bait??? Title should be Consider before buying, not Wrong...

1. Plastic Build: Anyway with Glass all recommend using skin or case to not break it then what is the use of having glass back??? Xiaomi made that point in the announcement...
2. MIUI: You should really give MIUI 10 a try... Stable, smooth, responsive and good looking... OS is a personal preference and MIUI doesn't have any major flaw to complain about...
3. NFC: Poco was targeted for emerging and developing economies and NFC is a luxury at those places so cutting cost by not including it is a good idea...
4. Wireless Charging: So definitely a OnePlus sponsored (or heavily biased) video since You mentioned it is not a problem as OnePlus doesn't have it... Wireless Charging just adds to the cost and why that luxury in places where fast charging itself is a luxury...
5. Water Resistance: This phone should cost upward of $400 if this is needed...
6. Availability: Xiaomi always has a small set of countries where they sell their devices... Poco was the largest of them all... Anyway You can ship it from other online retailers who sell it for almost the same price unofficially...
7. Price: They never said its $300... The made the announcement that it costs €330 and whats wrong in it... Does any other phone have SD845 for that price??? That is the point of this phone, Cheap but all that performance...

You missed Display (no AMOLED), Camera (no Pixel Like), Notch (very big) and Brand (Chinese) and then complain about other Flagships not having Liquid Cooling and Facial Recognition since Poco has... And most Importantly the PRICE which no Flagship will have...

Was this video created to hype in Favor of OnePlus 6T by making Poco look dumb (this is second such video I am watching in just a day)...

SPERRYNZ, 08 Nov 2018I am about to buy this phone today and for me this is an in... moreI have the POCO F1, I bought it fully aware of the limitations and I still love it. I never really used NFC or wireless charging though I had them on my previous phone. For me the lack of water resistance is a bummer, but expected for this price. There are a couple of other downsides too - there was something about codecs and inability to Netflix, but I never cared about that either, so you should check for yourself. To me the second important drawback besides no IP rating is that there is no optical stabilization for the video.

Apart from the lack of NFC and water resistance, the Poco is a solid phone. The pros outweigh the cons any day. I've been using it for the past two months, no screen bleed or ghost touch (MIUI 10), incredibly fast, great battery, very good camera and screen.

The cons are not an issue for me; no NFC, no FHD on Netflix, no notifications at the top bar (yet). Overall, I paid $370 for 6/128 GB global version, and I saved tons of money buying another "flagship".

Well Vlad, when you start by talking about the Kevlar as somewhat inferior to glass on the back, your credibility is completely gone. Kevlar is by almost ALL means superior to glass for a back (lighter, stronger, more durable, better grip, less prone to fingerprints, feels better in the hand...)
For most cases a good plastic is better than glass too.

The ONLY reason to have glass on both sides is to increase the chance of one breaking, and thus the chance of the user have to shell out for more repairs or buy a new device....
So it is a thing benefiting the seller not the user, like the planned obsolescence of non removable batteries... ...Does anyone hear an echo of aPple here?

....after that it is hard to take any of your ranting serious. Even if the video also has valid points.

There is nothing wrong with this phone.
Its the best you can get for that price.
And for all of you CPU and GPU is what determines the flagship phone.
You can buy Buggatti for 2 millions or you can have same buggati for 3/4 of its price by removing some things you dobnt need or want to use,
              This is the same.
Even Apple XR is a midranger but cost 900. or much over 1000 with the 512 GB option.

If Pocophone has android one it will be the new nexus5 (cheap, fast, and durable) and it will one of the most popular phones, but with miui it is super customised with glitches.

Xhxhyy, 08 Nov 2018Nothing wrong with that price. It's not a flagship either.... moreMan but this is a flagfship phone not a midranger.
You can have a Tesla or Buggati Chiron top notch for 200 000 tesla or 2 million for buggatii Chiron or you can have same car but without all add ons like parking camera, heating inside the chair, navigation and many else. for lets say 2/3 of 50% of the maxed car price.
                  But its stiill the same.

Neat idea - a pair of videos, 'why should you buy it' and 'why you shouldn't buy it', are a great way to save on reading (for those who aren't into it; I do enoy reading).

Tom, 08 Nov 2018No one mentioned the touch screen issue (high latency)?Yupp especially at the edges of the screen

Anonymous, 08 Nov 2018Such a waste of time video. Pocophone is cheap and powerful... moreThat's what I was saying before buying the S8+.
I hate bloatware and the first thing I did after buying the phone was to delete everything I didn't want or use.
This includes a LOT of features from settings. You don't even need root for it, just adb. I've deleted Bluetooth, NFC, Bixby, Iris scanning and the list goes on and on.
Stop trolling, open a book or read a tutorial from XDA and you'll be surprised what you can do with just a bit of research.

I still have not seen any ads in anywhere in my phone. Stop your ranting over things you have no clue. Read yellow paper and trust that all is correct.

That's unfair. Do not require specs that other phones provide with higher price. Pocophone is just a Redmi note 5 with a different processor. That is. You get what you pay for, and the price difference is only due to the higher spec SoC

I am about to buy this phone today and for me this is an informative video and it reminds us all to "let the buyer beware".

However I am aware. No NFC is the only real issue for me, and as I carry a small wallet anyhow its not really an issue.

To me this is the 'new Nexus 5/SSGS3' (yes I am over thirty!) - by that I mean that it hits a great value point and with an open bootloader is prime for some custom rom action (see XDA if you like me are looking for alternatives to MIUI). It brings back the fun in mobiles for me - I have had a Pixel first gen and 2xl - solid phones but boring and WAY too expensive.

I like the idea of a high performance phone that I don't need to insure as it isn't >£800.

But, like the video suggests, buy it with your eyes open.

Same old reasons not to buy Poco, gsmarena is becoming so boring, useless information!

BrendonF, 08 Nov 2018The screen bleed issue was the only present in some models ... moreDoes icons like bluetooth, Wifi etc now show on notification area with MIUI 10?

Saw some reviewers say the notch is too wide, hence no space for even a few icons to show up.

Nzi97, 08 Nov 2018To be fair, snapdragons 845 is the only thing going for the... moreThere are multiple reasons why this phone is more a flagship than a mid ranger aside from the obvious SD 845 chipset.

For one it uses the fastest UFS 2.1 memory which is not present in most mid range phones like the Nokia 7 Plus or Samsung A7 2018

Second its camera is what a lot of flagships use with just OIS lacking.

Lastly the screen is insanely well calibrated. No mid ranger comes with a calibrated screen out of the box and it is only flagships that offer such screen.

So screen, processor, memory, battery life and camera are flagship levels. The only aspect that is not flagship is the design and the build quality. However if it was a glass design it would still be inside a protective case as glass is very slippery and easily shattered on impact.
