Here's what's wrong with the Pocophone F1 (VIDEO)

07 November 2018
In a slight departure from our usual video content, we take a look at the hit smartphone's imperfections.

Sort by:

My feedback:
1. Plastic Design: No problem.. Any way, any phone is going to go inside a plastic case.
2. MIUI: We will love it as we use it on daily basis.
3. NFC: Payments can be managable.
4. Wireless Charging: Wired charging ( QC ) is much faster.
5. IP Rating: We can mange it.
6. Availability: It might be available soon.

All these measures might be for maximum cost cutting measures. I find this model best one. ( I just bought Mi Max 3 few weeks before this phone was launched)

Posting videoes is fine. However, when I come here mostly to read an article. Or maybe you should put something like videos or have video banner on the headline to clearly indicate that. I know you wrote that in the description. But people tend to overlook that part. But that's just opinion though. Regards

Except for the screen, somewhat the size of the phone and MIUI, none of the mentioned things is a deal breaker for me.
Had it been AMOLED and in the 5.5" or less realm, the phone would've been perfect.

I actually prefer plastic and metal over a glass sandwich. I tend to keep a phone for 3-4 years and that wouldn't be possible with a glass slab.

Nrj, 08 Nov 2018On the price of a midranger you can get a flagship and this... moreTo be fair, snapdragons 845 is the only thing going for the pocophone f1, i can see many reason people would buy a normal midranger anyway
Today's midranger is not be underestimated, what they lack in SoC department, the make up with superior build quality, good screen, feature, design or just simple solid all arounder, and to be honest, how much people really care about the SoC running in their phone(they usually ramble about the storage tho). All in all, as long the phone look good to them and do general app(i.e social media) good enough, people buy it

On the price of a midranger you can get a flagship and this phone has most of the basic qualities.
Anyone can live without nfc. And plastic build is definitely more durable than a glass sandwich. Camera is of course mid. Someone said about pixel bleeding but this problem was found in a batch of smartphones and you can change your smartphone with your seller with in 10 days exchange policy.

It may have a SNAPDRAGON 845 inside, but other than that, everything else is pretty much downgraded. I've heard some users here saying that their display have some issues, camera takes blurry shots etc

              Whats wrong is its design.

please make an article of a device which cost more than the specs,
                you know what I mean.

PapaRafe, 08 Nov 2018Plastic, no nfc are really deal breakersOof, Just buy the Kevlar Edition. For NFC buy a smartband with nfc.

Great idea addressing downsides of popular phones. Keep on good work

                      Nothing wrong with that price.
It's not a flagship either. It's a midrange phone with top current chipset priced at reasonable logic. What's wrong? Why the $1000 flagship can't make it twice better than this phone. Thanks to Xiaomi bringing this competitive price.

I really like the phone. If it only had wireless charging and had a stock Android, it would've been the perfect phone out there

let's face it, the only thing xiaomi got right with this phone was the cpu and a lot of hype.
A similar strategy is to stick a snapdragon 845 on a smelly pig's back and suddenly it's a flagship phone with four joysticks and a nozzle!

Didn't watch this video yet, but I'm sure there should be a video like this about, particularly, SGN9 :)

Actually i rather miss good old polycarbonate. Dropped my Lumia 950XL twice in 2 years (my Nokia 808, never). And all glass XZ3 twice in first day. Never thought that those glass sandwitches are so slippery.

theres always a reason these phones are cheap.. lack of features and quality isn't the best... all the chinese phones carry high SAR levels so I'm never touching one.

Sure! Go for it. It would be good for buyers

I think the biggest downside of Poco F1 is the lack of NFC.
I don't mind good plastic, but it needs more time to show, if it's good or not. Glass sandwich design is overrated and fragile.
Any IP rating would be nice, but let's remember, that many expensive flagships don't have one either. So requiring one in a much cheaper phone is not too smart.
And the pricing. Even if it costs more in Europe, the price for those specs is really good. It costs basically as much as modern mid-rangers, but giving you much more. Well, you could choose last years flagships for a similar price, but some people might call them "outdated".
