I... moreThey even try to rip-off people who longed for 'Nokia' branded phones by offering worse-than-crap 3310 2G (50 EUR); after sold for certain amount they release 3310 3G (70 EUR) which makes ALL the 3310 2G buyers feels like moron by buying USELESS crap; and later do the SAME STUNT by releasing 3310 4G (90 EUR) which AGAIN makes the 3310 3G buyers feels like CLOWN.
Lastly, a month ago, they released another worse-than-crap Nokia 8110 4G, also for 90 EUR, with slightly 'better' specs.
Fun fact: for 90 EUR Nokia DUMB phones, u could get Nokia 1 with 10 EUR more, or get the newer Nokia 2.1 (also 100 EUR); MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better purchase if u have SANE mind

Qwerty2018, 08 Nov 2018Another smart-ass trying to mislead people by saying BS, I ... moreLol. Your brands wouldn't exist without Nokia's technology. How about the variable aperture on Oppo's new phone? Even large players like Apple, Samsung, and Huawei knows that. That's why they continue paying Nokia for royalties.

Have u ever own ANY Xiaomi phone? Which one? Which variant?
If u can't even answer these questions, go away TROLL...
Xiaomi offers many great devices worth the money spend; Mi series, Mi Note series, Mi Mix series, Mi Max series, Poco, and Redmi Note series.
Moreover, with Mi Mix series, they DO 'innovation'; introducing bezel-less phone and make it as 'compact' as possible. Even the Mix 3 offer the ingenuous slider design to avoid 'notch'; something that NOKIA NEVER, EVER TRY TO ATTEMPT!
For BBK; as much as I hate Oppo, Oneplus, and Vivo, they also DO 'innovation'.
Under-screen Finger print sensor, NOTCH-free display (TRUE full screen display), motorized camera mechanism, rotated camera mechanism (N1), and VOOC & Super VOOC fast charging.
Does the 'new' NOKIA DO ANY 'innovation' like Xiaomi & BBK? They DON'T EVEN TRY!
SO MUCH for devices claimed to be 'designed in Finland', they don't even introduce ANYTHING ORIGINAL; only relying on the 'nostalgia' crap which doesn't mean anything!
There's no helping that TONS of people keep saying "HMD is 'chinese' company with HQ in Finland', 'the new Nokia is Chinese phone with Nokia logo slapped on to justify its ABSURD price tag', etc!

'''Notch'ia''', 08 Nov 2018Xiaomi oppo vivo and the new nokia are from the same family... moreLOL. Why this people waste their time in proving Nokia is a chinese company.
Do you feel your life is fake?
One day you will surely ask this question as you don't have a real life to enjoy and stop doing nonsense things again and again but still you will end up seeing HMD Global Oy is a Finland Based Company.

But it's not hiding notch if you only change the background to black. And you dont get full screen content cause it's impossible. Watching some video you will have that notch still there and video wont use the sides of the notch. Games wont have that space of screen in use too.
The worst part of it is when chin side has rounded corners and then the notch side have sharp corners.

That empty middle bar that you'd usually see with a no notch phone is a waste of space anyway. I mean, that is what I really envisioned on the use of a notch which is exclusively for that.
That means I have unprecedented 2:1 screen estate to watch without that 1 vertical ratio ruined by a miscolored (blackened) notification bar.

If only you get them cheaper. HMD Nokia is selling prices like Samsung, LG and Sony.
No way to compare with the rest of the Chinese brands. I was a fan of Nokia but as they went away and this new start up small company dont make anything i like and there prices for the hardware is a bit too high. This new Nokia isnt the same like the old Nokia but it's still a Finnish company. For my point of view first they need to make a name for them selves and proof the quality and not use the old good name and there for we must trust them. No i dont trust new start up brand with nostalgic name on them. And from my last Nokia phone the quality it had isnt better then my first true Chinese brand phone from Xiaomi quality. And well with the glass sandwich it still needs case too.

Thats not removing notch. As your clock and notifications and other things are still on the sides of the notch so making the black line is not removing anything.

Lightning McQueen, 08 Nov 2018You forgot that there are 3 Nokia. The first is the network... moreThere was, is and will be only one Nokia... at first they designed and manufactured mobile phones in their own factories, after that they sold off their mobile phone department to Microsoft, whom, under license, were able to use the 'Nokia' brand until they dediced to continue under their own name coupled with the 'Lumia' brand and finally HMD first bought the feature phone business together with Foxconn and later whatever was left of the smartphone department to continue designing mobile phones. DESIGNED in Finland, MADE in China and under license of the one and only NOKIA.
As many have already said; it's a bit too expensive to design and build phones in Europe or the USA. When China gets too rich the manufacturing will move to the next low wages country, maybe Vietnam, or Indonesia... and then we will have Pocophones 'designed in China' and 'made in Vietnam'.

PVR, 08 Nov 2018Yes, It's China's NOKIA mobiles but not NOKIA's Nokia Mobile .. The Real Nokia moved on to innovating 5G satellites and radio towers, etc. The Real Nokia let HMD, a neighboring company made out of veteran ex Nokia employees make phones with their name on it. Since HMD is relatively a small company, they ask Foxconn to make it for them based on the phones' blueprints they sent to them.
So it's like Apple's situation where it's designed from their homeland but it's made in China. Be glad that you get phones cheaper because of them.
