I have been very happy with the software on my S8+. I find little reason to complain that get security patches a month late or new versions of Android a few months late. Samsung offers their own twist on Android which I find useful. Goodlock 2018 and Samsung Pay are unique to Samsung phones. The hardware is top notch, without a notch.

More than likely a huawei zealot, they're almost worse than apple sheeple.
I miss the days when it was Android vs iOS, now Android has broken down into individual brand factions spewing nonsense.

What made commenters think S8 will not get Pie? All Samsung flagships get 2 years of major updates and those complaining about slow updates there is nothing special about Pie its just Oreo 2.0 or Nougat 3.0

This is their chance to change the bad impression of their slow updates. Right now it is better than it was with Touchwiz, but there is still a lot to improve.

So to be honest, I think the wait for updates shouldn't be bemoaned as crippling to buying a Samsung phone. While you wait for updates, you do have a fun phone to play around with. That said, I do agree they could be quicker with updates, so maybe One UI will help since Samsung is working with Google, which is surprising to say the least. Maybe this partnership could extend to the Pixel line
