Yes, Super Amoled should continue with 'A' series. Not a fan of LCD. If they make the 'A' series LCD they will overnight find a drop in sales. As one commentator mentioned the only reason people choose samsung phone is because of super amoled screen which better than the display of other phone manufactures. I have previously used lg and display of it sucks big time. Samsung don't remove one of your best features for your phone just to cost cut. Please find another way around it. One you do cost cutting you will become just like the other shitty phone manufactures.

AMOLED is the only reason anyone buys these garbage phones.

then my Galaxy Alpha will be the first and last phone I buy from Samsung with SuperAMOLED. SuperAMOLEDs should be kept on S, Note, and A series.

Sebstin, 11 Nov 2018DOnt understand why Sammy releases so many phones?.. So muc... more Reason is they want to fool customers on many ways. If they produce more phone models, there will be less spare parts on the market. It will also be more confusing for customers to find difference between them.
Other reasons are planned obsolescence. They release same model several times. For example, after releasing Galaxy S2, they released same, equivalent phone more than 5 times. Only thing they changed is updated OS. There is latest Galaxy J2, which is actually S2 with android Oreo. They are slowing down older phones, after 1,5 years.
Don't forget custom ROMs. More models is equal to less devices per model. So, making a custom ROM is less important for phone, that is produced in lower numbers.

I just hate Samsung, because they are treating customers like idiots. Sorry Sammy, you are not going to fool techie people.

I am glad to say that my last Samsung's phone was Galaxy Ace+. Samsung has worst price-to-quality ratio. Every other brand is more cost effective.

Their best phones are S and Note, but they are extremely expensive. Their midrangers are quite good, but still too expensive. Low end Samsung phones are garbage, with still high price. So, you will never have any benefits from buying a Samsung device.

i would have bought a mid range samsung if at all, for the Amoled screen alone.now , no reason to look at one....priorities sorted..

DOnt understand why Sammy releases so many phones?.. So much being spent on development, testing, marketing etc..

Cant they keep 3 high end and 3 relatively low end phones per year?..

Say 5.1", 5.7", 6.2" sized high end phones and similar form factor comparatively low end phones?. 6 phones per year is easy to manage also..

lyndino, 10 Nov 2018I know bro. So many little things that Samsung does that go... moreTo LYNDINO:

For me it's not just specs. functionality is key and superior telephony features are important to me as well. The average phone has support for 9 speed dials whereas Samsung's midrange Galaxy Grand Prime has support for 100 and if that seems excessive, the top dogs like the S5 have support for 1,000 speed dials!!!!!!

In my opinion Samsung goes way over and beyond other manufacturers. I was a huge Nokia fan way back but Samsung won me over eventually.

In regards to this article, other than telephony, the display is the one of the most important parts of a phone. The Super Amoled were probably the best aspect of Samsung's mid-range, removing that leaves little to be desired in owning one of these mid-ranges.

This isn't just about the Chinese competition. Samsung will still retain some premium pricing over the competition and they will still make the same profit margins with an LCD. Samsung shouldn't lose their USP though.

Samsung should just mass produce or license the production of AMOLED/Super AMOLED to other manufacturers to bring the price down. Their Galaxy-A series price point is higher mainly due to the display. You can get a flagship-spec'd device with IPS LCD compared to that top galaxy A series with AMOLED screen.

Original-Jamaican, 10 Nov 2018To LYNDINO: I totally agree with you my friend. Samsung ... moreI know bro. So many little things that Samsung does that go un-noticed.
I believe people come on GSMArena and look at specs and immediately dismiss any possibility that it could be a good phone. Samsung has been around for a long time and will continue to be around, you can't deny that.
Last time I bought a phone based off specs was the HTC EVO 3D... What a powerhouse of a phone at the time, but heavy, shitty display and failing after warranty. Such a bad experience I forgot about it until now.
