Maybe the best way is Sammy try to make an android one devices instead of ditching AMOLED display on it's A series.

The only reason even few of the users still preferring samsung is due to amoled displays, now they are dumbing that one too in midrangers, well done samsung.

They never make it right in the mid-range segment. They downgraded what once was a hit. Galaxy Alpha is dowgraded to Galaxy A. The amazing C series is banished after being downgraded. Yet they plan to ditch AMOLED from mid-range. Well done Samsung. I'm not your fans either.

Loool wut!?!?
Looks like Huawei is seriously affecting Samsungs sales....
Especially in europe, where you can now get the P20 for £400.... better than anything samsung has to offer in that price range

I totally agree with you my friend. Samsung ... moreOkay buddy, that's a great story. But we are talking about their midrange and lowend phones not top dogs. Just look at the specs for A5 2017 and compare it with A6 2018. The only thing got "better" is infinity display. Everything else is slightly worse. Now compare A6 with their competitors from China. What do you see?

S6 User, 10 Nov 2018For anyone who isn't sure of the lineup change, it is:
S... moreM series would be lower mid range, since it's a combination of J and A series.
Prices are expected to be around $200, and Samsung might even abandon such phones like J2 Prime completely
That's just my personal take though.

AnonD-558092, 09 Nov 2018What a sad day. AMOLED is kinda the trademark feature of Sa... moreIt's a wrong move. Clearly it's their price that's killing them, with a bad price to performance ratio. You're paying a sum of money and yet you're getting way lesser things than what u get on Chinese smartphones, that's where non-Chinese brands go wrong, not only for SAMSUNG. But, they have decided to take a step back instead of fighting back, fighting back means that they can have a chance to take back their sales. But, they didn't do it

lyndino, 10 Nov 2018Love all the different comments from everybody. Really laug... moreTo LYNDINO:
I totally agree with you my friend. Samsung certainly spends a lot of time and money on R&D. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 which I love to the bone. It has everything you could want in a super smartphone. Anybody who owns an S5 long enough will know what I'm talking about.
The keyboard is lovely especially with the hot keys. Another handy feature is the numerical keys above the alpha keys which quite a few manufacturers haven't implemented in their keyboards...one such manufacturer is Apple. There are many other features which makes the S5 stand out...one such feature is being able to adjust the vibration intensity and I could go on and on and on.
I also have a Huawei P9 Plus. There is a lot to like about the P9 Plus like the storage memory, the speed, the loudness of the speakers etc. However, the S5 is still my personal favourite. It's like Samsung thought about everything and crammed it into the S5...which is on point because according to several news sources, Samsung actually wanted to include an Iris scanner into the S5 but they weren't able to achieve that goal on time.
One thing that annoys me about the P9 Plus is that there is no separate volume adjuster for notifications. The call ringing volume is also the notification volume. The S5 has its own ringing volume and notification volume. One more thing I prefer with the S5 is that the rear camera is in the center while the P9 Plus have it at the top left-hand corner.
Last but not least, the S5 gives you access to the clipboard and not only that but you have 20 memory slots for the clipboard and what is in memory stays in memory even when the phone is off. The P9 Plus only have one clipboard memory slot just like the average phone and once the phone is turned off you lose whatever is in memory.
Samsung deserves to be number one. They earned that spot with their technological brilliance.

I wonder where are all those who hate AMOLED because of burn-in, degradation and whatnot. And, if you read carefully, some A series phones won't get AMOLED, not all of them.

Introduce One UI but take away LED, so I guess the new A series will continue using Experience?

Really laugh when people want flagship qualities in a mid-range. Then the 'anonymous' user posts that Samsung is struggling due to less expensive chinese brands. What do you guys really expect? I'm sure Samsung puts way more $ into R&D than Xiaomi, oppo and Huawei and feels their device is worth what they ask. As a consumer who doesn't like the price the first thing you do is complain without actually testing the product. Quite comical to read all sorts of opinions on varying brands, keep it up guys / girls.

Sad to say and sad to see, but i really think Sammy is in panic these days. It don't feel like they doing good choice's, would be in panic to if i was in Sammy's shoes with all this competition, especially from Huawei and Xiaomi. And when we talking Xiaomi, they really will kick start their crusade now, when the enter europe to.
It really will be some hard years coming for Sammy for sure, i think in 2-4 years Huawei will take the throne as no. 1.
The time will show what will happen.

I am no MBA. But is it that difficult to streamline a range? Samsung makes good stuff, but their range is so confusing, prospective buyers get confounded and go for something else.
The current A range is a mess. A6, A7, A8, A9. Not to mention the + iterations. They should have an entry level J3, J5, J7, a mid range A3, A5, A7 and an S Lite, S standard and a Note. 4.8 to 5.4, 5.5 to 6. 6 to 6.5 screen sizes in each range.
Amoled, no notch, SD card are features that keep you different from competition. Removing them makes you no better.
