Something simple like landscape mode for home came for S9 in the middle of this year, I have since Android 5.
Sony does not include gestures because they know how annoying they are.
Sony is not fan of Apple like Google, Samsung and all Chinese brands.

Samsng's nougat is much better than sony's pie.
Samsung is always many steps ahead in terms of user interface and features. Even google is following what samsung did, like multiwindows, foldable user interface, etc.

Or maybe the XZ2 Premium that can see much more in the dark? How about its 4K HDR screen?
What about 3D Creator?
I could still go on, but if these things aren't enough, then Idk what else is. I hope your standards on "modern" phones aren't something as 100-camera smartphone.

X and X Performance share same camera hardware with Z5 but each has different results.
The 845 will give Xz2 an edge over Xz1. Even with same algorithm.

Even if sd845 does help with the post processing, let's remember how good the p20 pro's photos are and what cpu does it have.
SD835 and motion eye camera on xz1c are, for sure, capable of taking better picture.
Too good I'm not a Sony fan because of the camera...
I just like compact phones with good battery and there's almost nothing that gets close to xz1 compact or z3c(at its time)...

I'd suggest waiting for Android's final form if you find it hard to use right now

Well at least they seem to be updating older devices hope they keep up the security updates.. though I would have preferred if it was November patch.. not that I own any of the phones might causes me to considering moving back to android if they did..

I'm interested to know more, especially since I also want Sony to bring back the headphone jack on flagship XZ series and not remove it again until there's something new and better to replace it, and that removing it won't cause anything bad to happen.

pt020, 10 Nov 2018My XZ is perfectly OK.Xperia XZ is really just fine with newer updates. That jealous person might be using a different phone that offers significantly slower updates in comparison to Sony, or maybe his/her phone might be way too inferior to Xperia phones.
Either he/she installed way too much virus on his/her phone or he/she just makes up a fake story to find something bad against them.
No way a SD820 couldn't handle such tasks. My SD625-powered device could handle Chrome, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Mobile Legends, YouTube, and Messenger, all without causing too much lag on my phone (it slows down, but not to the point of being unusable).

Got the last update abt 3 days ago.
I totally need an upgrade. I like the phone, just tired of it.

The are strong gossips that point a return to the XZ Premium design.
The 2019 lineup might have 21:9 screen and sided FPS. Higher screen /body like 92% for L3, 89% for XA3 Ultra and 85% for XA3. While XZ4 Premium with 4K HDR oled.
All phones with dual cam : 23+8 for XA3 and 13+8 for L3.
XA3/Ultra has dual speaker grills, each sides of USB, which means stereo.
Headphone jack is present on midranges, there are prototypes of XZ4 that have or lack it. One prototype of XZ4 has notch.
Premium has 128Gb.
EIS will be much stronger.
Bonus: in 2018 there were gossips about a device that would be above XZ2 Premium to celebrate 10 years of first Xperia. Looks like this was cancelled but might be ready for 2019. It was supposed to be like a Pro version of Xz2 Premium.
