Nokia 106 Dual SIM unveiled, plus two new colors for the Nokia 230

14 November 2018
The old 106 was available only in single SIM flavor. This new model has more memory for contacts and texts - a small, but important change.

I wonder why Nokia 230 does not support 3G network! As we know there are some countries have already abandoned or upgraded their network into 3G or even 4G! It would be good to provide 3G support for those markets or as a faster options where both 2G/3G are still available!

Manufactures: Stop making 2G phones. There are enough 2G used-phones in 3G/4G-using-countries to be shipped to 2G-using-countries at half price. Save the environment.

Anonymous, 14 Nov 2018I get many readers are angry at the absence of 4g (inc me),... moreYep the world revolves around their country and their 4G.. LOL.. Here in Malaysia I still set my smartphone to use 2G instead of 3G/4G to save data battery because wifi is everywhere.. And in the remote rural areas only 2G with EDGE are available.. But still 100kbps is fast enough for light surfing AND youtube GO

Anonymous, 14 Nov 2018not for me and many people around the world, many countries... moreYou're still getting inferior value with a 2G only phone. Nokia has had cheap feature phones that support 3G many many years ago. My old 2730 Classic, for example.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2018They couldve just made 3G as standard on their latest basic... moreWell said. This is such a waste.

They couldve just made 3G as standard on their latest basic phones, this will be a total flop unless they will target only Asian Countries/Africa that still has 2G.

Anonymous, 14 Nov 2018So you rather have a phone with inferior voice quality? Sim... moreYeah, the JioPhone and the Micromax Bharat simply annihilate this.

The 230 looks quite nice. A bit of a shame its 2G only.

Why do people just fight the hell out of it just for a €20 feature phone?
I mean, we aren't buying flaghships you know.

Anonymous, 14 Nov 2018So you rather have a phone with inferior voice quality? Sim... moreNokia makes 3g phones too, it's not like they offer nothing else, the 8110 is 4G so is the new 3310, still i'm going to buy one of these, the voice is good enough.

2G only is terrible these days while countries are on 3G/4G
hope to have low SAR value , 105 & 130 sar value are high

Making this 2G only is physically segregating those who only want a simple phone to be stuck with inferior product. There are VoLTE feature phones for $20-$30 nowadays. Nokia has no excuse.

                                        both phones are 2G-only

Really? That is dumb. Many countries are ditching 2G already. In fact, even developing countries have 4G only carriers now. Making this a 2G only phone is extremely stupid. Just because it's a feature phone, doesn't mean it has to be obsolete out of the box. At least put 3G in it for better voice call quality. Nokia can make a 4G feature phone before, no excuse for this one to be 2G only.
