24 November, 2011
Contrary to analysts estimates, the Lumia 800 is very popular in the UK and the Netherlands.

Still this Samsung Focus S I937 is much better than Nokia Lumia 800, for me I'll get Focus S if the price won't be too far different.

M.j., 25 Nov 2011Whoever may say whatever. Lumia 800 is a great product. the... morewow what have you been smoking. You old nokia is already outdated and has no support.Nokia missed out big time by not going with android.Instead you have a phone that has no 1080p video recording and no expandable memory and hardly any apps.Truth is its its reverve engineered and a backwards phone full stop. Its going to take alot to stop samsung and htc.People want these barnds and sales show this more.

        LOL
I've said it before, I'll say it again...
Nothing gets more people worked up than a Nokia phone!
Haters, lovers, the full spectrum of people!
        Love it!

Just coming back down to reality...

Firstly, as I said earlier, great to see Nokia off to a good start, considering this isn't even their flagship... it's a good looking phone that's for sure... but of course then there's the question of W7 OS...

The problem is that W7 is just 'okay' as an operating system, it's just not that exciting... it's probably as restrictive as iOS... and the fact that it's still relatively 'new' (Mango bringing pseudo multi-tasking) and real user-restrictions (limited video quality, no flash player, limited memory, limited processing speed, etc. etc.) it just feels a little half-baked...

The danger is that everyone buys the new Nokias because they're 'Nokia' - but then realises that the operating system is a bit rubbish... and unfortunately that's all you're going to get with Nokia... so people buy once and then move on...
        :(

(coupled with the fact that apps are GROTESQUELY over-priced on W7 - often five times more expensive than Android / iOS version - why would you pay through the nose when everyone else is getting them cheapy cheap..?)

And recent reviews of Mango - saying how the 'live tiles' aren't really 'live' - and that it's still quite a confusing OS... I think they've got an uphill struggle...

        BUT

If anyone get W7 to improve and get it to the masses, Nokia can...

Here in japan, the new wp7 800 and 710 are still on request. I can get n9 w/ NFC headset for about ¥70,000(35,000PhP) and the suggested price for Lumia 800 is ¥49,000(24,000PhP). Lumia 710's price is not yet available so i guess i have to wait. I'll buy a MeeGo n9 and WP 710.

I own an iPhone 4 w/ iOs 5 and it's really slow. Guess i'll just give it to my little brother when i got home in the Philippines on April.

Recently, i really can't choose between Nokia N9, Samsung Galaxy S 2, and HTC Sensation XE. S2 and SXE has good type of battery but it do heat up a lot(according to the comments) and i can cook pancakes with ease.

Since I was really surprise for the launch of Nokia's n9 so i asked my bro to canvass one for me, yet it's more cheaper here in Japan.

When will the new WP's next handset be launch?

FWIW, I've been impressed with my HTC Trophy after only a week or so of using it (eBay FTW!). Will definitely be grabbing a Lumia 800 if Vodafone Australia has it on offer when my plan's up. My sisters are quire impressed with WP7 - no doubt they would love the HTC as a hand-me-down.

Oncom, 25 Nov 2011LOL… are you buying Nokia base on statistics or base on wha... moreyup, that is droid mentality. oops, did i say android?

correct, noone should choose because it is very popular but because it suits your needs.

on the otherhand, more user means more developers, more apps, more choices. i'd take it as a valid reasoning (still, this also boils down to your needs). oh, did i say more glitch, more virus, more issues?

And that children, is why one must never believe "analysts" and "market experts"...

...in the same way I never believe "intelligence reports".
This may be off topic, but when the Norway bomber shot dead a hundred people, all the "terrorism experts" KNEW alqueade was behind it.

although i m not a nokia fan anymore for the last 2 years; using HTC. But gsmarena seems very bias. analysis, reports, reviews all seems just want to down it.

Whoever may say whatever. Lumia 800 is a great product. there is no doubt in it. And once launched in India, it will meet all its sales targets, cause in India mobile is equal to Nokia, and even now people simply prefer to buy Nokia over and above anything. Lumia 800 being unique in looks, smooth OS, and most of all it is a Nokia, it will sell well... I dont give a damn to those cheap Korean products, quality is not their game. For quality, its Nokia, SE, Motorola. Lumia 800 entices the common man like no other. Who gives a damn to you geeks, fanboys and haters.
Samsung deserves to die not Nokia or Motorola, and samsung products are cheap costwise (and also qualitywise) cause they are Reverse engineered copies. Nokia, Motorola and SE are the real leaders, cause their hardwork brought real innovation to mobile technology.
