14 November 2018
The phone running Android 9 was certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, a prerequisite step for the release of the update.

I agree it has enough power to handle Pie well, but at least Samsung will still send sdcurity patches for a few months

s5 neo went from kitkat to nougat. Samsungs been getting better at providing updates in general, maybe it will get it. Also with more devices in the treble program, we'll see more devices getyong 3 major updates. Let not compare to Apple considering that Apple don't have as many chipset and ram configuration, optimization, and carriers to work with

Samsung better sort its priorities out if it doesn't want to lose customers. Why would they give Pie to a measly 300k Note FE users but not to 60 million S7 users?

Your case sounds like what my mother's GALAXY S8 experienced 2 weeks ago, where she was unable to rotate even though auto rotation was working. I used an app called GPS Status & Toolbox to check if the sensors are working and all of them failed to work. Brought it to SAMSUNG Care Centre and found out it was the motherboard that's causing this, luckily this was fixed under warranty

Note FE launched with Android 7.1.1 Nougat & should receive 2 OS updates upto 9.x Pie.

Specs don't affect updates. Some flagship phones come with outdated chipset on launch (Such as LG G6, Nokia 8 Sirocco, Red Hydrogen One, etc), but they're still expected to deliver 2 OS updates.

have this device for 1 year already. but last week, I had to bring to Samsung service centre because all the sensors are fail to work. all sensors except fingerprint sensor.
the Samsung staff said it was hardware failure. I hope they can extend the warranty since the warranty just ended 3 days before I bring the device to service centre

SNAPDRAGON 820/EXYNOS 8890 last major software update is ANDROID OREO, while this one is a little different, which will make a lot of GALAXY S7/S7 EDGE users question why is theirs not going to be updated

The One UI based on Android Pie is most likely going to be modified because Note FE uses hardware keys (multitasking, Home button, back) on the front to navigate the UI. It may also not have the GESTURE OPTION which is a GOOD thing.

This high-end phone getting 2 OS updates is very normal and predictable. If it didn't receive 2 OS updates then that would've been deserving of backlash.
