16 November 2018
Most probably other components will fail before the slider breaks.

after 600.000 slide
then broken?

I believe the concern should be on fine sand, sludge, oily liquid that seeps between the moving parts rather than the sliding mechanism

video just shows a few slides and counter saying 600000.

            hardly "proves" anything.

Levy, 16 Nov 2018So it'll break in about 2 weeks of use for most teenage girls.Teens don't use Mi Mix 3 since no variants coming in P!nk. Its a good think that Xiaomi thinking out the box instead of copying others design.

A "no load" open and close test really isn't impressive.
You can bet a few will fail with FOD (foreign object damage).
Ink pens, paper clips, bits of dirt, dust, cookies or whatever.
Not to mention it gets triggered to open, when something is pushed hard
against the top, which might place stress on the motor/mechanism.

Number is too precise anyway, exactly 600k, going further to 672937 or as long as possible.

                      I doubt this one.

                          Good
This would be around 34 times opening and closing every hour for almost 2 year. pretty impressive.

PS: Also a teen and have Sony.

One sand particle - and slider is broken. Did you ever seen pockets without tiny amount of sand time to time?

It's funny,I would actually prefer a slider phone like this than the future phone with underscreen camera(let that fact slide) any other case like oppo or vivo's implementation are shiit compared to this implementation, buuut it won't probably come to India and I don't like miui(it's the worst honestly, even emui is better)

That dude must've mistaken that phone for... "something else", if you know what i mean. :p

On a serious note though, it looks durable and reliable. Good work!
