The S8/S9 are slower Fast-Chargers than the OnePlus 5-6t, because its a difference of open-standard vs proprietary solution. I'm a proponent of open-standards because it stimulates competition, which stimulates innovation and economies.

However, on this front I will appease you. The Qualcomm solution is kind of dumb, as to fast charge it puts the pressure on the USB port and the Phone. Oppo's solution is actually more simple, to put the pressure into the charger/plug, and its yielding better performance too. The latest SuperVOOC is currently the best because it builds upon the already better VOOC/SuperDash charging.... but it goes a step further by having phones use two individual batteries inside, and split the voltage to charge both batteries quicker than you would charge a single-large one. It's exactly what Jobs or Classic Apple would've done with the iPhone X (and beyond), but the Cook or Current Apple couldn't think/innovate on.

Plus it is quite easy to steer clear of malware and viruses on android at least in my experience. About the whole Google collecting information thing, yeah that seems to be happening. And it can't be avoided. Which is why I'm rooting (not android rooting lol) for Eelo OS, which is basically Android w/o Google or something like that.

And they weren't hacked - they were victims of social engineering through their own actions. (using the same password on multiple websites, using the same security questions/answers on multiple websit accounts, revealing personal info, using weak passwords, etc.)

Users install those from the store and agree to google's terms and conditions about tracking and sharing of information collected through their apps. It's their own choice.

But you can be google-free with iOS and choose to not have any google apps installed and run an official and secure OS at the same time.

                            AhmedShaikh, 20 Nov 2018OP6 doesn't have a "proper" USB-C port? Since when?Since forever.
It was acceptable with the OnePlus One, X, and 2. However, the 1+3 to the 1+ 6t are actually using a cheap (and old and slow) USB 2.0 port. I'm not expecting a ThunderBolt3 connection, but other OEMs are striving for a modern USB 3.1 port at this point whilst others (RoG Phone) are exceeding it.

drake parker, 20 Nov 2018How long ago was it when iCloud got hacked? It wasn't hacked at all. What happened is that "hackers" got people's personal email accounts credentials by phishing and through malware websites, by getting their details from other websites like social media and other pages where people register and create accounts that use the same password that they have used for other accounts.

They then use these credentials to gain access to more accounts of the same user on a range of websites and services, collect their account details from them, and then use all this information to gain access to or reset their bigger, more important accounts which ask more questions and require more data on the user to allow a reset or a bypass.

This is called 'social engineering' and the effect of it is that people who use the same password on multiple websites and services, or share personal information on forums and social media, put themselves to the risk of getting their accounts compromised/stolen.

Basically this is users not securing their credentials and information. They make their info easily available due to their own carelesness or by not understanding how phishing and social engineering works. This is not hacking.

The difference is that android is built to enable monitoring and data collection - it has these at its core. It's the way it was designed/built and that is the opposite of secure data and privacy.
