Dsp hexagon does in on Qualcomm SoC. Adreno 509 is weak for 1080p, it's same gpu on sd660 but Qualcomm decided to downclock AND lock it to oblivion

If there is good development with custom ROMs, it might have a longer upgrade life than its "One" counteparts. But sadly, this is not always the case.

But the best part is, with Asus dropping the "we love photo" slogan, they might actually deliver better photography than promised this time. As their midrange didn't live up to expectations last year.

That's just how the companies be though. More powerful internals is possibly one of the only things that premium phones have to brag about

Shui8, 23 Nov 2018Nope. Kirin 710 CPU perform on par with SD660, but its GPU ... morenope, Mali G51 MP4 is shitty.

That's why most people don't recommend Huawei's mid-range devices, because ALL of them have shitty SoC.
Better buy last year flagship with Kirin 9xx series for gaming purpose.

p.s Mali G72 MP3 in Helio P60/P70 is much better for gaming, equivalent to Adreno 512 if SD660.

xXENDER FREAKXx, 23 Nov 2018If you've been observing at Qualcomm's chipset lineup for a... moreWell AnTuTu Benchmark tests out about everything on the device, which explains the larger difference in scores between SD660 and SD820. The 660 can already match the 820 in CPU, but I think where mid-end chips should be able to match the high-end chipsets is in graphical performance, as that's what matters more for daily usage.
I could live with a phone that loads up PUBG Mobile for about 20 seconds or longer, if the gameplay itself would be as smooth as the iPhone XR for a long period of time.

But to be fair, Adreno GPUs are always ahead of their Mali counterparts. However, they shouldn't stay confident, as Apple is quickly catching up already.

I don't care about mobile gaming until there are more good games.
The only ones that are kind of real games in my opinion are like Minecraft stardew valley and kinda fortnite. But I hate the auto fire thing

Come on, you have to be kidding me!
My Snapdragon 625-powered device could easily handle the same resolution, and it takes more than 5 minutes before it starts to drop frames when recording 4K videos in the direct sunlight.
No way a more powerful chipset couldn't do the same, heck even better!

U could see that contrast when comparing the CPU with the GPU of a mid-end chipset in AnTuTu, like a SNAPDRAGON 660. Sure, if we compare a SNAPDRAGON 660 with a SNAPDRAGON 820 from the outside, it may look like as if this setup worked. But, if u look at the inside, tech savvy/tech enthusiasts/tech junkies like us will be facepalming in disgust. Of course, this chronic case is also happening for other chipset manufacturers

As for the CPU, it really doesn't have to be super strong to match the GPU. It's not like the way in which a more powerful GPU would enable 4K@60fps video recording on such CPUs, but for gaming capabilities, it would be a very big help. All that's left for users to suffer from is the long loading times, but that's if Cortex A73 level of cores isn't fast enough for most people.
