There's no point launching Nokia 7.1 in India when Nokia 6.1 plus has already been there and done fairly well. 7.1 is juts an upgrade from 6.1 plus in terms of HDR10 capability rest all remains same. Either discontinue 6.1 plus and bring 7.1 at a comparable price (which again is less likely as the ones who have bought 6.1 plus will be betrayed) or don't bring this device at all getting directly the X7/Nokia 8.1.

Nokia 7.1 is too similar to Nokia 6.1 Plus already available in India.... having same SD636, similar small notch, closely similar screen-size, similar memory & storage options, almost same sensors, same battery etc

Thus if Nokia 7.1 comes to India, that may be targeted as offline expensive option for physical stores (Nokia 6.1 Plus is online only).... Just as Nokia 3.1 is for offline market and is expensive.

Other chance I see is, this would be an India exclusive new model. Only thing is, if it is online-only model then price will be cheaper and if it is for offline market, the price will be higher

I wanna buy the Nokia 7 Plus but it's a year old now and will be stuck at Android Q. No bootloader unlocking (and even if it gets unlocking later, it won't get dev attention this late) is a no buy for me. I can't stick to bland stock Android

People will end up buying the wrong models

If priced less than 19k for base variant it will be attract enough buyers. Nokia/HMD haven't got the price correct till now in a price sensitive market like India.
