kiasunkiasi, 02 Dec 2018am speaking from my own experience as user of Symbian, iOS,... moreYou pay with your money or you pay with your privacy. Apple's price of entry here is the equivalent of ~365USD for a new SE, but then again, that SoC is the contemporary of a Snapdragon 835. The X I just bought cost me the equivalent of ~865USD. I do agree that flagship prices in general are getting out of hand, and Apple's new X-phones in particular have taken it to the extreme.

I am not new to embrace change in OS
seriously iOS is nice and has its own strength, but lately the way Apple price them is akin to milking their user as much as possible
to me, their pricing prior to 6S still acceptable but now it's crazy... a mobile phone more expensive then a laptop? something is not right there... iPhone is not Vertu and did not use precious metal or jewelry in them

I mean, my last iPhone was the SE and I paid for it 400 pounds, there is no way I will pay a thousand or more for a phone. Customers make market not company.

I have used android since 2013, a 3 year dalliance with an iPhone 4 before that, and Windows Moble (both touch and non-touch flavors) prior to that. I'm strongly considering a move back to iOS (even have a new X beside me that I haven't quite committed to unwrapping) due to ever growing concerns about privacy under Android.

Kriegsherr, 30 Nov 2018Sure now a days android is unlike 2008 and much better as a... moreBoth sides have various problems. One function works better in Android, another in iOS. It all comes down to preference to minimize your frustrations (which aren't high). It's just that Android devices are quite cheaper (I mean.. You can buy 2 Galaxy S8s (or galaxy s8* and a console with few games) for 1 iPhone X). Price difference shouldn't be that high for preference-only differences.
Apple also is about that ecosystem. One thing that it nailed is iMessage. Too bad that if I were to have iPhone, I wouldn't be able to use all of those features. Like sending SMS messages from my PC (or I would need to install 3rd party app the phone and PC, but on the other hand 'I paid so much for ecosystem, why would I not use it?'). But if I had android, I could send SMS messages from any type of computer that supports browser. So again. I buy 2x more costing phone and cannot use all of it's features if I do not have other Apple devices.

But iphone is simply just working. for example auto display brightness. In iphone it works much better than androids. Yeah sure i haven't tried all the androids but so far I have seen its not really functional. Another one is the display orientation. The orientation transition is not smooth in androids. Most of the time the display doesn't orientate. These are really small things but will be very painful to deal with.
My wife has a htc u ultra and another friend has a S8. Both suffers from same problem.
So either android hasn't catch up with the ios till now or the phone makers are making bad products. So iphone is better in some way. If you look at value for money that's another discussion.

Answer me then, why would Android 9.0 have ALMOST IDENTICAL swipe functions JUST when iOS 12 had it on their iPhone X? What's wrong with the current setup? Why introduce it just right after Apple has, when it's been around for so long eh?
Great job moving the goalpost too. Are we talking about the first computer? We talking about who introduced the menu swipe gestures in 2018, focus kid, focus.

Anonymous, 29 Nov 2018What does benchmarking have to do with real life?
And what... moreYa Ya Ya... likewise Android copied just as much as iOS from everyone else too; menu swipe gestures included.
How about the notch which nearly every android OEM is inspired by? It's clearly fugly from Apple, yet the OEMs from android camp copied it still?
If benchmarks have nothing to do with real life, then you shouldn't be able to tell the difference between iOS and Android either. So tell your beloved fandroids to stop thinking it's any faster.
you wanna bash Apple for being overpriced and under spec, or having a limited OS, go ahead. Its 100% true, even diehard Apple fanboys will agree.
Just stop with these nonsense lies and completely bogus arguments you fandroids conjure up just to justify how great Android is.

You say "steady decline in iPhones sales", while in fact the actual news suggests sales are less than anticipated.
Meanwhile actual numbers:

Dear Apple ... No numbers means no hit. Its a flop .. if u say that its so successful then dare to release the sales numbers ... selling 100 XR over 50 XS and 25 XS max . sure makes it more popular device but that number makes huge difference when initial expectation of sales was about 200. So if you sold 20 million XRs when initially expected to sell about 50 million and you are still saying its most popular device .. its just BS ... change your strategy ..its not 2007 anymore to just brainwash people.

Anonymous, 29 Nov 2018Better than buy Android phones that doesn’t has value and d... moreI buy a phone for my self for the use of it and not as a jewelry that apple products are.
There is nothing in apple products to justify the price they have. They cant even make there own IOS operation system to run flawlessly with there own devices. All the news about security of there devices lately and after there new model release every year they have problems on problems. So you fanboy can buy your jewelry but dont brag about it and say it's better then 1000 different models that run on Android.
Why i say 1000 is cause you can take in older phones too as there are lots of phones that use SD820 and 835. These are still good for everything. They might not get official updates but you can mostly root some android on them that will get updates too. If thats something you cant live without.
Premium feel you can get under 200 euro too cause even in there are phones that have that so called glass backs that make you feel that it's expensive but in other words it's just a transparent plastic on everything even on these flagship phones.

The cheapest model has been the one selling more? How is that reassuring any investors? Apple has always been about price per unit.
