Once again we have a honor 8 at home, no issue with my PC or my Pocophone.
There is no such thing as "strong reception" in the way you mean it, if your bandwidth varies with your your distance from the router there is something wrong with your wifi......it a matter of bandwidth allocation.

Your wifi reception is supposed to be between 95-100% as long as you have at least "one bar".

    Ummm,I am not sure if the hardware issue like this one can really be corrected with software tweaks.The phone antenna emits specific signal frequency and I don't think that can be lowered just buy software (or maybe can buy dropping some bands but then phone loses on it signal reception greatly?)

                  My son is using youtube player to looking at some videos. When he is doing that, I can barely open some site. Both in the normal distance from the router.
                  Huawei phones have very strong wi-fi connections. I don't know if this is connected with SAR, but the reality is like this.
                  I notice the same in my mother-in-low house. My son was there again looking some videos in youtube and my brother-in-low iPhone can't even read the mail.

                        If your son is for example using the TV application of your ISP, of course it has huge bandwidth allocation for example.
                        If your son is doing nothing with is phone on wifi and you get no bandwidth, it just means his phone is infected and is part of a huge bootcamp using your bandwidth to do.....whatever the bootcamp owner wants.

                        Other possibility is you have a super bad configurated router but I hardly believe that unless your son configurated it himself for his own benefit.

                        My wife has a honor 8, she will sell it next week. I had no issue with wifi at home with my previous A5 2016 and with my current pocophone.

The daughter only can match him, but she is with Huawei P20 Pro. Me and my wife - XZ Premium and HTC A9, we don't have a chance. Also great phone calls and reception.

                            Now, it has very little to do with it because it's quite a complex system.

                            But usually the higher the SAR, the worse the reception. Because it means the OEM didn't care to test and implement it properly.

                            The best signal comes from Nokia and Motorola devices, but now Lenovo is skimping on this front and I see HMD-Nokia following suit. Surprisingly (or maybe not surprisingly) the iPhones and Galaxy's are also one of the best. Don't know what's happening with HTC/Google because they need to improve.
