also remember, if the screen is cracked they wont replace the battery without doing the screen at the same time at a huge additional cost.
its a good idea to use another phone or camera and get high detail photos of your device as you are sending it in case of damage disputes.
still the 'discount' price is a hefty price to pay considering the battery is ~$5, and tapes cost next to nothing, and it takes 5 minutes to swap.

i changed the battery on iphone 7 - but it still consumes 12% per hour even on standby. This happend 7 days after warranty expired. They want to sell me the now one. After few months i'm swiching from apple, since for the price i pay i expect quality...

My mother's phone needed a new battery which was changed at an Apple Repair Shop before this Discount-Program came into effect. And now Apple is refusing my money to change batteries to one of theirs, saying its "dangerous" even though they have no problem to physically hold the device, take the battery out, hold the battery in their hand, to read the writing on the back of the battery, before putting it back together.
They tried to charge me $1,000 instead to get a new iPhone.
So for anyone in the same situation, don't even bother to go to the Apple Store. It's a waste of your time.

If only you could pop-off the camera and SOC replace it with the LG V40's camera and QSD 845 processor. The speakers, microphone, housing, battery and display aren't that bad for 2018.

And again, and old battery is going to be a pain in the ass cause you are going to be charging it way often. And on those cases, a bank is just a band-aid to the real problem.

As for battery degredation, let's be realistic.
I highly doubt you can easily use a lot of charging cycles of a phone battery in just 2 years. Well, an iPhone does have less charging cycle, but still not to the point where it can no longer hold a charge even for a second.
At worst, a full-charged iPhone in the morning will have low battery by the afternoon, but plugging it again to the Power Bank will extend it until the evening, where people might be at home already and have a lot of power outlets to plug their phones into.

On mac you need to download battery coconut and connect your phone to check it
On windows there was ibackupbot, but im not sure if it still work with newer versions of iOS.

It will retain less and less charge every time, more and more often. Basically, at some point you will need to have it connected all the time, making it unpractical. Not to mention you will need to charge the bank every single day and not forgot to carry it with you... just to save 4 bucks
Sorry but a bank is just an emergency tool, not a replacement for an internal battery of much better quality and reliability.

I can charge it at home and bring it everywhere else with the confidence that I would make it through the day with some spare charge still.

Guys, how did you determine the battery health percentage of your iPhones? I wanted to know mine too but I don't know how. I bought a brand new iPhone 5s last month for around $140 and I wanted to check its battery status.
