Never used any buds in my life.
An... moreWhat? That's the stupidest thing I have read yet! Don't like jack, then don't use it. You can still use your expensive and still inferior BT headphones, jack or no jack. 48 hours? Good luck with that awkward huge battery. I'll take my as long as I want, no charge headphones.
There's a reason the 3.5mm jack has survived all this long. It's reliable, versatile and is widely used. Unlike the floppy disk or CD drives, it doesn't have a reliable alternative yet.
You calling it analog doesn't mean anything. Apple just wants to earn money through licensing it's Lightning port and the industry wants it digital so it can put DRM control over your music. Nice job consumer, you played yourself!

SquadBoi, 04 Dec 2018Your "new" 20 year old Bluetooth technology is still worse ... moreWho said i use any???
Never used any buds in my life.
And there are actualy some with a 48 hours of battery life and offering excellent sound experience.
And even a bluetooth constantly improving with each year.
But jack is jack its always same.
Since 3,5mm jack has been annouced no changes at all.
That stupid ancient old tech should be long time banned, prohibited from usage.
Enough is enough.

I like apple as much as people love notches on phones.
But i never found a passion in jack.
Since my first cell phone before 2000 i never used earphones.
They always were packed in a phone box.

Anonymous, 03 Dec 2018Pros -Attractive design -Easy to use remote -Low price ... moreHow does this compare with AptX-compatible BLUETOOTH headphones? And stop reminiscing about a feature the mass market has clearly shown to not care about (otherwise, there would be letters, rallies, and even hearings directed against phone companies taking away consumer choice and forcing you to move to inferior technology). The market clearly cares more about cameras, two-tone finishes, and better battery life than a half-century old piece of tech.

nik.007, 03 Dec 2018Never knew using type C earphones leaks more battery than v... moreI'm confident that as long as there's a market. someone will come and provide for it and people who wish for better quality Audio and convenience aren't few. LG is one example. people can't hear Digital zero's and one's. the headphone jack is a standard in the Audio world and that won't change unless something superior comes to replace it. USB-C ain't it, it provide nothing new to the table, just moving the DAC from the device to the earphones. most stupid idea ever.

AnonD-731363, 03 Dec 2018Still a lot better than that analog ancient jack technology. The funny part is that you can only hear ancient old Analogue friend. you can't hear digital Audio!!. the only difference between a headphone jack and no headphone jack is that you LOSE a standard audio port that support all types of audio devices and DACs on smartphones are much better then most of those cheap earphones.
don't let Apple fool you.

Shanti Dope, 03 Dec 2018Okay thanks for the tip!
I really want to see if the USB o... moreThe audio through USB port is not comparable to 3.5mm jack. The audio should be at the device's best through 3.5mm jack. Yes, you might get audio directly on USB-C or micro USB without external DAC, but it is no way assured to be better. If you separate external DAC connected via USB of phone, then the audio performance is relied on that External DAC (Requires special apps like UAPP or Hiby or onkyo players to drive external DAC). I have 100$ external DAC, Audioquest Dragonfly Black which delivers superior quality compared to most phones. And again you need that special external hardware.
What i have tried is connecting a USB (type-A) headphone to Micro USB port with OTG adapter and it worked but i am not sure on the improvement it got over original 3.5mm jack of my Redmi Note 3. Connecting USB-C headphone to Micro-USB with adapter might or might not work becoz most connectors are made to support charging alone not OTG connectivity. but it is terrible idea to try on any day..
