Can't wait to see how OnePlus and their fans will bragged about this without give or ever mentioning it was actually a rebrand name of Super VOOC just like Dash Charge (rebrand name from VOOC)

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2018Unlike the rubbish chines manufacturers you mentioned (excl... moreYou clearly did not read the article I posted that explained the different fast charging methods, hint, the article WAS IN THE POST YOU QUOTED. VOOC and Dash Charging are the same thing and they crap all over Samsungs outdated and slow "fast charging".
Since you are incapable of opening a link:
OPPO:
"both VOOC and Dash Charge deliver higher amperage thanks to many components of the charger, including a microcontroller that monitors charge level; voltage and current regulating circuitry; heat management and dissipation components (that contribute to a 5-point safety check); and a thicker cable that delivers greater current, specializing in minimizing power fluctuations. Because the charger converts the high voltage from your wall into the lower voltage the battery requires, most of the heat from this conversion never leaves the charger — in turn, your phone remains cooler. The consistent current going into the phone coupled with the lower temperatures on the actual handset allow for reduced thermal throttling, which impacts both charging speed and consistency as well as the direct user experience."

Further more:
" OnePlus proudly proclaims it can give you “a day of power in half an hour”, which in reality means you are looking at around 60% of battery capacity in 30 minutes. This is not only extremely fast, but there are also a few perks that come with it. The charging speed is fastest and one of the fastest at those lower percentages, ensuring you can get extreme amounts of charge in just a few minutes should you be running low on battery. Moreover, the thermal consistency and lack of throttling is no joke. As we can see from the data supplied, the difference between under-load charging and regular charging is minimal. And this does mean that you will not notice slowdowns, additional stutter or general throttling side effects whilst using your device. This is a great plus and, as we’ve noted in a past analysis, it does truly mean you can play demanding 3D games such as Asphalt 8 while still getting nearly the same charging speed, with the difference being explained by the drain incurred by gaming itself."

Charger is fast enough to maybe need a top op after almost 2 years of use.
Depending on what I do of course.

Who didn't bother to research? XD
Also Samsung's fast charging is based on Qualcomm's quick charge 2.0 even though we have 3.0, 4.0 and 4+.
*Or even PD for Type-C phones!

AnonF-85937, 08 Dec 2018Do not compare Samsung's outdated and crappy "fast charging... moreUnlike the rubbish chines manufacturers you mentioned (excluding OnePlus), Samsung's fast charging is intelligent, and as the name suggests, Adaptive. As you clearly didn't bother to research, it adapts charging speed based on battery temperature and health, to minimize battery degradation. Rubbish brands like Oppo's fast charging constantly push high current into the battery, with no concern for battery damage on their already low quality batteries.

The charger regulates charging speed based on the temperature and health of the battery, to minimise battery degradation. This is probably why charging is sometimes slow.

unknown , 07 Dec 2018so... if a battery charge faster will die faster? not sure ... moreMore like the fast charger will die first. In my own experience, my mother's GALAXY S6 and GALAXY S8 Adaptive Fast Charger (or should u say Quick Charge 2.0) started to have fast charging issues after a year of use, it recently just happened on my mother's GALAXY S8 charger. Sometimes Adaptive Fast Charge works, sometimes it doesn't

This will be nice with high capacity batteries, but they still remain mounting small ones. Well, it's a good simile. Recharge, accelerate a few times and return to the gas station because your supercar has burned everything in a sigh with that ridiculously small tank for its consumption.
