TeleSPb, 08 Dec 2018Pathetic tactics. Perhaps rethink the phones then. Pathetic will be to believe everything you read.

This is a bold claim, but also a dumb one. To do something like this in such a saturated market, you must not like the customers and want to kill their trust. The same as the userr below be. I disagree.

Apart from Google and Essential this is Android on a whole.
Pure Disgrace.

And this is the very reason they are holding back the camera capabilities, the only company that can come close or beat pixel is Nokia and since they are now all android ones ,maybe this is a bad business politics,

Releasing updates would count in their good books and also no sane CEO or other high ranking person will claim they are doing it even if they are and majority of companies do it

Because nobody buys their phone. Bad tactic. It's not fake it's real.

I don't think this is fake as when I tried posting it on Nokia 8 community forums they censored it

HMD fanboys will treat this as fake news. Though I believe other companies also use questionable marketing strategies.

Of course they will deny it.
No sane company would admit doing such a thing although they all do it to some extent.

I don't see much of sense in delaying update just to boost the sale of another product. Actually, it would be against it. Nokia is trying to sound sincere in what they promise and I would actually hope they keep their word on it. System updates are one of those that you can make a good name on today as many other companies abandon their devices and updates as soon as they can. Only Apple is doing well in this regard. I personally am not a fan of Apple devices, prefer to be without the updates. I think that the companies should release some guarantee on those updates, such as web site with security updates and system updates before the sale, would be good to check it. The only company that has this page is currently Google.

Nothing new, don't act like Nokia is the only one doing it.

Wrong thinking there by hmd. Giving out the update will not lower sales of new phones. Coz the old ones didnt sell well. So not many ppl have them. And their specs are out dated. The new phone have a very competitive pricing and features with new notched designs.

Rest assured that we would never do such thing. Each chipset family and each product in it requires dedicated work. We have extreme focus here and push updates as fast as possible.
Again apologies for missing Nov but more news here shortly.
