I really like how countries nowadays such as China dare to rival US. I do think that it is time for US to stay down and let other countries up.

Anonymous, 12 Dec 2018I think he/she means that China is the biggest technologica... moreCough cough, would we have gunpowder or paper nowadays if u said that?

This is so obvious that is disgusting. This is a show of power by USA to let know China and specially Huawei that things are their way or no way. They knew from the beginning how this would go, that she would be allowed for house arrest and that she would have to stay in Vancouver. She is a hostage of this whole trade war. Supposedly these accusations have to do with Huawei dealing USA technology to Iran, but if so, why have they not made a formal accusation to the world? Where are the proof?

I always thought Donald Trump wasn't as bad as they draw him out to be,

Anonymous, 12 Dec 2018So the USA made China what it is today then. Maybe China s... moreLooks like you got tons of files about all the ideas Chinese have stolen out of America. First of all, don't be a hypocrite, you act like any company wouldn't do it or wont do it if given the chance. Copying an idea is not a crime, copying the way of carrying out that idea is. If companies could just steal technology and use it as you suggest they would get no business outside of their country as they'd be sued all around whenever they tried to branch out. And what is all that about Chinese eating cats and dogs? Different countries have different cultures, and eat different stuff. Just because you don't hear about it where you live doesn't mean Chinese hasn't contributed with technological developments to the world.

You may pretend you're just spewing facts, but you reek of hate

The logic I use is I can't see the US imposing a sanction against a country without doing it's homework to make sure it's legal or not.
Why are no other countries speaking up about this, it's not like Russia and the US are the greatest of friends. India / pakistan could easily speak out about this as the US just cut off aid support to one of those countries (something about an expensive statue...).
I don't outright hate China in anyway, would love to visit it one day.
Who on here can state what the US did was legal or not? Please provide a source of info so it can be verified.

all you said is true but it is mostly like some agreement that need too be made between 2 country and it is not a low!
So if you use logic you should understand that there is no low to force such thing to any country.
Or maybe you know everything and you can come up with a excuse for it?

Mathematically what u were trying to say is
If the us punishes China and they r important trading partners, then China must have done something wrong.
But what make senses is the statement if China done something wrong, then it should be punished.
U have stated the converse of the statement (which are not logically equivalent) without any proof.
To make it clear, what u should prove is what I asked: China has done something wrong according to international law.

Economically and theoretically, there is justification for the trade between china and iran, which is the concept if free trade. This can be proved mathematically.
And to make it clear again, why it does not exist perfectly in reality is partially due to politics. It is not because it is bad(I assume u would think in this way)

My initiative is not to question u in any way. As a math and econ students, I have literally zero law background and what u have said gave me the impression maybe I could get the answer from u.

And another thing is as a person who has been exposed to both Chinese and British culture for a long time, it is interesting to say different stresses are being put by western media and chinese media. (Also different order of the paragraphs, missing details, different wording and so on)
Some of the Chinese media do act as the mouth piece of the government and some of the western media do have bias against China. I really hope people can think independently. Question things, do not swallow what u have been offered.

a country no matter which one cannot force any country to obey it's will(by low)
so basically US cannot tell china you also should ban/sanction IRAN!
at very best they can ask their alias to do so but they can't enforce them to do so. and those country can ignore it or accept it!

Anonymous, 13 Dec 2018and do u have any suppor why chinese companies should obey ... moreI in no way am a scholar in international law, just to be clear!
I do use logic and reasoning throughout all aspects of life though.
Who is the greatest trade partner with China? My educated guess is the US.
Who is the greatest trade partner with the US? Probably China.
Why would one company go against their greatest trade partner to sell some communication's equipment with a supposedly bad country?
To many people on here think they are knowledgeable in international law.

The US is accusing Meng of fraud, representing SkyCom ( a subsidiary of Huawei) as a totally different company with no links to huawei. The fraud allegedly happened when Meng was serving on the board of SkyCom and was seeking funds from american* banks (*not sure, but surely banks abiding by the american law).

                              Nop.
