Nokia should not have kept the Lumia 800 at such a high price, but the people who cannot afford it can always buy Lumia 710. I can think of a ton of phones that are less expensive then Lumia 800 e.g Galaxy S II, Droid Razr, I think nokia should release a 4.0 inch model of Lumia 800, with a 1 Ghz Dual Core processor and keep it at an average price. I am dying to but Lumia 800, but with such a high price I'd rather buy Galaxy S II, which is better at everything

AnonD-32669, 02 Dec 2011Instead of Going Windows Phone..Nokia Wud Have been better ... moreNokia should have adopted a different platform. Nokia can produce beautiful hardware, but unfortunately its Symbian OS became obsolete, for practical purposes, a long time ago. Google should have been Nokia's OS partner from 2-3 years ago. Although Microsoft can offer Nokia a lot of experience developing smartphones software, Android is what Nokia needs today.

Once. Once I was a die hard fan of Nokia. Now i am using LG's, saying again..LG's budget android P500 Optimus one.
Now I think You've got the idea why Nokia's emperor is falling down!
Meego could run Android apps and what an OS it is! First of its kind and yet Elop dropped it and help selling graph to come down.

nokia is stubborn, to be in competition you have to be flexible and listen to demands of consumer. people love android and nokia hates it.....

WP7 or Android won't help Nokia much........Nokia must stay exclusive with its own Symbian OS. People like to be exclusive and have exclusive things.........look at Blackberry........continue to refine and re define the Symbain OS....don't just copy others...engage celebrities to promote Symbian...innovate and keep exclusive!!!
Nokia must reinvent itself and start to 'Re Connecting People'!!!!

Before blaming WP7, please read the article!

**The financial quarter in question actually precedes the announcement of the Lumia and Asha handsets, but as such, it does indicate that the change was necessary.**

you think Nokia doesn't know these feedbacks?????

I bet my balls they know the feedback with the Symbiam belle and Meego-Harmattan.

They can't relaase another line-up of phones after just releasing Belle phones, a Meego phone and Wp7.

              Get real.

i think nokia should continue with meego and symbian ... because after making so beautiful devices nokia goes down to windows phone and thats the biggest mistake.. n9 is veery nice device and if it is given some more market apps it would be good ... who cares of android.. nokia for symbian and meego :P meego already destroyed android if the owner of nokia gives some attention to it , rather then moving to windows phone -.- .

                thankz

it's not nokia that's the problem... it's the crap operating systems they use with the exception of meego..

Hopefully, they'll loose enough profits to make them dump their contract asap with MS and resume their product line, N900, N9, if they want a future that is, they'll go back to a linux based OS.

otherwise they're screwed, in the past 15 years, i've only every strayed away twice from nokia, but i flat out refuse to use the windows mobile OS.. I would have gone for the N9 but when i found out they're going down the MS path, support would be dropped for the N9 so what other choice we have?...

Symbian.. no, it's like watching a baby develop 10x slower than every other baby.

Android, quite possibly (i'm now on an SG) but their ego would not allow them to do that after pumping so much money into symbian

what's left, yes that's right Meego which you decided to dump for MS crap.. don't worry nokia, MS will throw money at you for a few years to keep you alive :) but your days are numbered, seriously, get back to Meego and get developing or you'll be gone in 5 years....

I'd rather use bada than symbian now lol

now I think we 'll 've to start our own smartphone company..
See, Nokia z a stubborn child, they r not goin to shed their ego.. by the way they overprice their phones in term of specs.. But they have innovation & their each smartphones r unique in design n beautiful..
Samsung & LG r good in terms of specs but r similar looking , no sense of innovation.. Samsung launching similar looking phones in each new week I confuse to identify them n confuse to call it galaxy s or sll or y or x or else.
Apple inspire us to save money for buying their iphones but take more than a year to launch a new one.. & by that time our patience sorts n we get tempted to buy a samsung galaxy note.. & when we cum home we get fooled to realize they gave us galaxy z..

The report telling about the whole 2011 financial, so why you connect it with Lumia 800 which released in November? No matter how good the sales of the new Lumia 800 til now, if it compared to whole 2011, it wont stand a chance.

Nokia policy makers 've to shed their ego.. they says apple & android devices fail to excite them..
But they excite peoples dats why apple is one man army & android is unstoppable..
These types of statements r truly irresponsible bcoz ur industry is already in loss.. better to do sumthng really appreciable & then execute such statements..
What they r lacking z a sense of appreciation of androids & apple.. only when they appreciate things they wud know their true potential & skills to excel..

Nokia needs to advertise simple what the phone can do not adds with celebrities. For instance the new tiles or the simple way to take a photo or the way to listen to music. The phone is now more than a phone. People need to be told and show the phone only, not people smiling in a fake bbq get together like the useless australian n9 campaign. I will ring nokia aus and tell them

I wonder what does the nokia fanboy pro got to say.

In my words, dumbing meego for the corporate lies of stephen elop, the windows dog, triggered the beggining of the end of nokia.

I wonder what would be the quarter profit if things are going like this in their home.
