"Not ugly" is enough for a smartphone's appearence. It should mainly be comfortable, useful, well-priced and so on.
There is no reason to strive for some special "beauty" in just a smartphone, especially when it is inside a case (and there is no reason not to use a case for a smartphone).

    Best looking for 2018 would be the S9 for me. That gradient color released recently just slays.
