jplunks, 07 Dec 2011wouldnt ME and 2000 pretty much the same?Windows ME wasn't called Windows 10, and 2000 was also not called Windows 10.

      Your argument is invalid

I think RIM is calling it BB10 because a "10" is a perfect score in anything. Anyone else ever tried to call their phone's or software "10"?

“Me” was the biggest crap MS ever made. And should never be compared with 2000

stupeedseeker, 07 Dec 2011it was named windows 7 because it is their 7th windows rele... moreCorrection

              There was
              1 windows 3.1
              2 windows 95
              3 windows 98
              4 windows millennium/Me
              5 windows 2000
              6 windows XP
              7 windows Vista
So that makes windows 7 really the 8th version of windows.

                Where's Skype?
                Where's front facing camera?
                Where's dual core processor?
                Where's 1Gig RAM?
                Where's Android Apps support?
                Where's long lasting battery?
Where's affordable prise, in close range with competitors in smartphone market?

All those functions had to be available on BB smartphones for X-mas this year, in order for BB to stay in business.
I'm affraid we won't see BB in 2 years time...

                RIP BlackBerry.

No one does care bout this... Whether they still use old-cheating tactics on its blackberry server, BBX, BB10, BBten, or whatever would not be counted anymore.

TruthSeekr, 07 Dec 2011"why RIM went ahead with 10 skipping 8 and 9 continues... moreMicrosoft has choosen to use the Windows 7 name because that´s it´s version name (well, technically it is 6.1 and vista was 6.0). Open a built-in windows 7 application like the calculator and click on Help>About. It will say that the Windows version is 6.1 and the built might be something like 7xxx.

Anyway, RIM can choose whatever it wants, it can jump from version 1.0 to 9000.0 if it wants, there are really no rules(I think), just common sense ;D

XP had internal version number of 5 (well, 5.1). Vista's was 6.0.

But for a reason unknown to me, Windows 7 is version 6.1 - not 7.

Biggles, 07 Dec 2011WP7 is useless for enterprise! No remote management or wiping. You can remote wipe WP7 devices, but yes, it doesn't have all the management features BB does.

Will be interesting to see WP7 in a year or two.

before comes android, i like to have a bb, but never succeed, android more interesting than bb, mostly bb is qwerty which not applicable now because of even low cost phone of Samsung also using touch screen virtual keyboard such as cham. it ok for budget phone but what the hell for high end phone like bold and torch. and for android marketplace(free - i mean), like there is not enough room in my phone to packed all the apps, make me to get a second or third android, but hope it will change soon
