Apple does NOT bend the actual OLED panel on the bottom. Wish people would stop saying that based on that fake image that gets posted a lot. Take a look at teardown videos and pictures of the iPhone X to see how they did it.

Samsung's chin will probably still be a milimeter or so bigger but Apple has very thick side bezels and fat notch. None of these phones are truly bezelless.

Samsung can release the best thing ever, but it still wont stop Huawei becoming No1... the age of samsung is dying

Ham, 27 Dec 2018Now a days most of the new headphones has built-in wireless... moreHere's the thing, are they going to lose anything if they didn't remove the 3.5mm jack?

If manufacturers believe that wireless audio is the future, why don't they offer free wireless headsets in the box of their phones already?

They could enforce their wireless audio quality WITHOUT having to remove the traditional wired audio for those who prefer to listen in that way.

It matches the audio quality of wired audio already? Cool.
How about music playback runtime? AFAIK, wired headsets could work as long as a lifetime and needs absolutely NO recharge to work endlessly. Can wireless headsets do that?
With wired headsets, I don't need to turn on anything to listen to music, which means all I have to do is to plug the jack in and I'm ready to go. Bluetooth also consumes some considerable amount of power, which lessens the phone's battery life, and it still has the tendency to disconnect.
Not to mention, when other BT devices are connected to your headset, you cannot connect your phone on it. Pretty annoying I'd say.

You also do know that the best audiophile product in the world HAS a 3.5mm jack, right?

Look, I'm not against wireless audio completely, and in fact, I've pre-ordered a wireless headset a few days ago, but I disagree with the idea of removing the jack just for the sake of enforcing the theme "wireless is the future," which is true to several extent, but not in a way that they're just going to remove all wired connectivity options in a sudden.
It must take its time. I know that the time will come and all phones will finally lose the 3.5mm jack, but not at this stage yet at which the world isn't ready yet to go completely wireless.
It's a step-by-step process, and if they really want everyone to jump to wireless world, then they should've prepared us properly, not that they're gonna force their users to deal with the problems that they've created.

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2018funny how after all this time no company has come close to ... moreObviously Apple thought ahead of everyone else by putting a patent on the technique before releasing it.
Others would've done the same exact thing, only that it's too expensive to do and isn't by any means necessary during the time that bezel less was becoming a trend (their main purpose was to reduce bezels ONLY, not to create a full-screen device with absolutely nothing to block it).

Ham, 27 Dec 2018Now a days most of the new headphones has built-in wireless... moreNopes. The wireless audio technology is nowhere near the wired one. Amplifier don't make a difference when there are no details to begin with. Why you can't hear a difference? That is your problem, not the wires.

Mate 20 Pro chin is smaller because it's chin + metal frame and the one from S10 is only the chin - when we see the product itself it will be bigger.

Igk769, 27 Dec 2018They've got a point though. What point? How is that comment in any way relevant to be the article? Why are Huawei fanboys so insecure?

funny how after all this time no company has come close to the technology Apple has in their phones where they bend the screen to minimize the size of the chin. You say it increases the overall cost? There are smartphones that are as expensive as the iPhone...
