Foxconn to start premium Apple iPhone manufacturing in India next year

Foxconn will use a plant in the state of Tamil Nadu where Xiaomi devices are also manufactured.

      Labour cost is probably lower in India than Shenzhen though.

                Please do some research FIH have stack in HMD no doubt but not 100% first check the link there are few others but main stack holder is Ginko Ventures

The money behind and the profits are for China less the few old employees salaries. And like they do with other brands around the world. As they are now trying again with a takeover bid for Amer Sports (Suunto, Salomon, etc). And exploit those brands too.

                            1- “Assembling” is not “manufacturing”. Made in India xiaomi phones are also only assembled in India.
                            2- Doubt the price will change much. Apple wants to maintain exhorbitant profit margin and brand perception.
                            3- More jobs is always good, so there’s that at least.

At present cheapest iPhone XR 64 GB costing more than Samsung Galaxy Note 9 512 GB! People just laugh at iPhones at this price. Even showrooms won't be able to keep them in displays. Anything more than Note series will fail in India. Even Note and S series struggling against OnePlus. Indians don't care about brand loyalty...if specs are impressive they just go after that

                                    Why aren't Finnish people buying Nokia phones anymore? It used to be their beloved brand. The reason is they know the truth. Nokia is just a brand name now just like Blackberry.
