Foxconn to start premium Apple iPhone manufacturing in India next year

Foxconn will use a plant in the state of Tamil Nadu where Xiaomi devices are also manufactured.

        On my case like hmd i will definately partner with a well known smartphone manufacturing company and that is foxconn the no 1 smartphone manufacturer as a 3rd party vendor. Since you have less manpower can you manufacture smartphones ?
        No not at all you will surely give it to a 3rd party vendor and right now foxconn we can trust as they also manufactures apple products. So whats wrong in that even foxconn have shares with hmd so its good thing they will make quality products for HMD too as thwy will not ever think of degrading the brand as they will even loose their money.
        Since d have less manpower why and how would they manufacture phones on their own? Why to invest such less manpower on that? they have even more work to do they have to reach all over the world in very short time span. Because Nokia as a smartphone brand is recognize every where in the world its not an easy task.
        Hmd have done a good job here in just 2 years. And even on 2016 rajeev suri the CEO of current Nokia that they are bringing again the smartphone brand but similar like the google nexus but difference in nexus and HMD is HMD is made up of previous Nokia employees which all have a goal and intenstions to make the well known Nokia brand alive again.
        They all are experience people in HMD see first each and every profiles of HMD global executives on Linkedin they are previous nokia employee and have more than 10 years of experience working in Nokia.

          Does this mean the 2019-20 iPhones are gonna be cheaper as compared to previous iPhones? Like what happened with Galaxy Note 9, no import tariffs in for Indian consumers. In that case, this is such a good news.

                  HMD not only does promotion and marketing, they are the ones who shares the tech and patents with Nokia. I mean, they're neighbors with one another for Christ's sake. They are also the ones making blueprints. Foxconn is just there to manufacture based on HMD's design. So it's designed in Finland.

                    Even if Foxconn manufacture iPhone in India for Apple & Foxconn / Apple gets tax incentives under 'Make in India' program from govt, they won't pass on this benefit to end user, they will just increase their profit by keeping the price same as if it was imported.

HMD global due to official agreement with Foxconn doing just promotion and marketing. Everything else (development, software etc) making FIH mobile. So Nokia now is a traditional Chinese zombie brand like Blackberry, Phillips and Alcatel.
