Its samsung + sony + lg . I hope nokia can step up their game

Anonymous, 31 Dec 2018Why 41MP when you can have 12MP with much better low lightEasy. Because i like some (actually, a lot) detail in my photos. And my photos being as RAW as possible. 12 mp and 2,55" sensor is not enough, especially with all the aggressive noise supression most of manufacturers are using. If you ever compare Nokia 808 38mp stills to stills from whichever nowadays cameraphone flagship, you will see, what i am talking about.

and Android ONE adds icing on the cake

I'm eagerly waiting for this phone as the Android One program on my Nokia 7 Plus is pretty good. Android 9 Pie after 20 days and monthly updates which makes me feel that my phone is evolving every month with updates. I liked that on my iPhone and I really appreciate it on Nokia phones.

                      screen looks flat

                      NICE

Dr Arser, 31 Dec 2018Probably my next phone. 3.5mm jack is missing, but also Sa... moreThe S10 still come with audio jack. A good point to buy it before they remove it in flagship models, plus good cameras/software and not a crap software processing like Nokia has, at least until now. Not confidence about the use of the "PureView" name till several reviews are done. That video smells to use the trick of five small sensors to increase the light captured but without more detail than a single big one can achieve. Where are the rumours of interchangeable lens? Will be all clones instead of different features? Telephoto? Wide angle? B&W? Which? We will see.

Seems that this is an old phone delayed on purpose. Anyways it'll interesting to read the review and how much they ask for this phone, now that newer hardware and sensors are available in the upcoming other phones for CES and MWC soon.

There is something wrong here. No mention of video. The normal 845 chip is maybe not up to recording significant video (4k) using 4 or 5 cameras. You might get around these by using raw data off the camera and process extra sensor feeds with a GPU, but that's not great here I understand. Apart from additional circuits, the alternative solution is not great (something I'm looking at). But in reality, we might be looking at fullhd video from multiple points for computational video techniques without additional resources and technique. However, we hear this isn't a balanced multipoint array (even overlapping cameras instead of different focal lengths) but I am yet to be convinced all the cameras have different set up. We will see.

Light, has spent a fortune making custom silicon and partnered with a mobile phone company to do a multipoint computational photography phone. Such a thing could easily use a 845 to oversee things while it did most of the work. The Light 16 camera uses multiple sets of differently setup cameras to deliver very nice stills. I am not aware who they are working with, but it would he nice if it was here. We are yet to hear about what has happened to to the Red Hydrogen multipoint camera module.

More cameras do not necessarily mean better images. I'll wait for image samples before coming to any conclusions about it's cameras. It needs to be at least as good as it's competition, if not better.

That SD845 is an obvious buzzkill, but if the cameras live upto the "PureView" hype, then most fans will ignore that flaw.

Hope to see some innovations from Nokia and Zeiss.
