Somebody gain, 08 Jan 2019It has no net impact to China economy. When Apple flopped, ... moreNo?

Foxconn is in China. Less iphones to build means less money.
LG and Samsung have screen factories in China. Both supply to Apple.
Other components might be manufactured in China...

Factories in China have tons of chinese employees.

If you lose much money, you cut costs. Including number of employees you have..

900$-1000$ Huawei is still cheaper than 1300$ Apple or Samsung... You see the point.

Anonymous, 08 Jan 2019I believe USA government do not want data of their citizens... moreThe issue is: If USA government tell Apple/Facebook/Google to hand over the data or install spyware, can Apple/Facebook/Google say no ? :)

Sad facts, 08 Jan 2019They did this to themselves. iPhone 7 still blazing fast on... moreNope, it's the market in general that has plateaued ..... The incentive in terms of feel of an upgrade for the insane price tag it comes with is diminishing. They have crossed the height of the pricing that makes sense for the consumer mass market, they were always expensive but now they simply don't make any sense to a lot of people who would have bought iphones even if it stretched their budget thin. You can see same story with samsung's flagships that are priced similar. That's why these manufacturers have now resorted to add more prime lens cameras to their phones with 3, 4 cameras on back and 2 on front. They are running out of ideas to make their yearly smartphone feel as an upgrade over previous year's phone.

It's no surprise that Huawei is doing well. They've been on a roll. The only thing i don't like is that the prices of their flagships are continuously increasing, which is never a good thing for consumers... but at least the specs somewhat justify the price unlike most others, so that's that.

Apple on the other hand keeps increasing the price and not offering enough upgrades, which is why people are losing interest in the brand.
