Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite runs Geekbench with Snapdragon 855

08 January 2019
The SM-G970U, the US model, uses a Qualcomm chip, of course, but there should an Exynos 9820 version as well.

"As for what kind of performance you should expect from a Snapdragon 855, early indications show that it should be faster than the Kirin 980 and Apple A12 Bionic"

Did you mean A11? Keep dreaming if not. Because no SoC will beat the A12 before the A13 comes out.

This can't be sd 855. Whenever a smartphone manufacturer uses the term lite, it usually means low performance.

I mean you are working on a tech publication, you should know that geekbench has nothing to do with "software". It is pure hardware. It is CPU testing. CPU is the only thing that the system (any system) is built *for*. Android is an arm based software for example. Guess what ARM stand for, yeah the CPU's construction set.

So, no what you see is what you'll get. And that's pretty clearly not a SD855.

          Better reporting next time.

Seems like unoptimized SD670. Samsung 'Lite/Mini' series never put a flagship SOC on their device.

Theres a reason its called 'Lite'.

Yeah the final product should have respectable scores.. Single core upwards of 3000 and a multicore in the region of 10000. This score looks more like that of an Exynos 8895 from 2017
