Apple haters think they are saints and doing the world a favour by mocking/insulting apple users for supporting a tech company which frankly, has done nothing to them.
They are dictators and extremists of the tech world.

Oh dear, those precious resale values that some desperately have to cling on to will be affected by this, LOL.

As company, they earn more then enough money from iphone sales. Devices costs more, and profit from sales could be about the same as it was last year.
Problem could be long term, if sales continues to go down, and existing users goes for android....since Apple makes much of it's profits from "services".
Less uses=less "services " sold.
But since iphone users tend to keep their devices 4-5 years, Apple still have some time to introduce model that would be " cheap " update to all of current iP6, iP6s, iP7 and iP8....those not ready to spend over 1000€($)

Invest less(produce less) and sell it for more money...that means that profit goes up...at least profit per unit.
I'm not worried for Apple...and I did not invest my own money in it, so idgf.
But I don't thing that they stress about all this to much.

Apple has to lower the price of its top models. has to be US$700 or lower for its XS 64GB, it might be repeating the failure history of its Macintosh line in mid 1990s.
the 1st generation of iphone 8GB asked for US$599 only. it is a device for use, not a jewel for keeping for life.
the current Iphone is no longer that much advanced, innovative, exciting as that of 11 years ago. the Android models had caught up in 5 years after the 1st iphone was released, Android models can now do the same, or even better. any software can come to its mature state after some years of development.
The windows95 appeared in the market in 1995, the android 4.0 appeared around 5 years after the 1st iphone was released.
the Apple could keep on falling if not making changes in time. those spacious stores in crowded districts are sign of wasting, losing minds. after some years of success, or luck.
