The Google Pixel Stand is an unreliable, expensive mess

From lack of fast charging, buggy notifications to missing Live Photo mode, the list of issues is as long as the list of features.

The Pixel Stand has been working flawlessly for me since I got it with my Pixel 3 on Black Friday. Best Buy had the stand for $30 for 2 weeks after Black Friday as well, which is FAR cheaper than what I paid for the Qi charger and replacement back panel I got off Amazon back in 2015 for the LG G3 phone I had at the time.

        This is really sad, they make some of the best looking products on the market, especially on the android side. If only I could have faith in any of their products. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out if people just expect more from Google, or if they actually have an abnormally large amount of defects, and unfortunately it seems they put out really unstable hardware.

        In a dream world Google would make the UI and OS and Samsung would make the hardware and QA test. But rn we have the best OS maker in the world releasing bad hardware, and the best hardware manufacturer in the world releasing bad UI.

                        Wireless fast charging is about the worst you can do for the overall battery life!!
                        And this is especially bad for a device where the battery is not easily user-replaceable!

                        It IS possible that the 'issues' seen with it exiting and entering fast charging could be a positive thing done to avoid 'boiling' the battery....

                            Samsung 4 beta Android pie releases before a stable update so months as I have commented Google is just competing with Apple, Apple maximise profits .

                            5G brings a lot of new possibilities, Google in order to charge more for each update will bring really undeveloped rushed updates

                                Anything google is unreliable and expensive mess including the pixel phones.

                                  If you want quality - Pixel brand doesn't your choice.

                                    Google wanted to the Apple of the Android world, where they tightly control everything.

                                    Too bad the only thing they managed to copy from Apple is their exorbitant prices for less features, plus they improved on that exorbitant pricing by having laughable product quality control.

                                      Google Pixel phone itself is an expensive mess. They position it as a premium device but every iteration has more bugs than features. Mediocre camera (computational photography is not the solution for every situation - for example you don't always have the possibility to keep the phone steady for a few seconds to do night sight, so a bright lens would help), poor availability (you still can't buy it in many European countries), ridiculous price.
