It's single core score is what is most necessary for a smartphone in comparison to multicore and SD821 is going head to head with SD 710 in single core performance despite it is a 3 generation old SoC and What happened to GPU part I would like to see some score of Adreno 530 Vs Adreno 616 and please don't even talk about Adreno 512 why do you even brought up SD660 ?and yes what he was trying to say is Higher end model is quite good from previous generation because it costs almost the current gen of midrange phone and higher end phones end way better quality than midrange even when you compare their prices. You can buy S8 for $350 tell me which midrange phone compete with its display SoC even faster storage , I haven't seen any midrange devices with UFS on board.

A little performance difference is nothing in real life.

Ha ha, nice one. Beats it in AnTuTu but the gpu score is half.

        Also, 2017 smartphones with SD821: https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nYearMin=2017&nYearMax=2017&sChipset=2 - that's just LOL =)

Also, "high end smartphone" doesn't always means that it's really good, especially for its cost =)

woah, a 8 core mid 600 to equal the performance of SD821 with 4...well, i dont know why they do mid range, better to do less cause a 3 year old is doing the same as a SoC mid-range of today...

Or better saying: better buy a high end phone with SD821 from 2017 with high end camera and not a new phone with mid-range SoC and a mediocre camera since those two phones are nothing compared to high end cameras of 2017.

still, if you are desperate for updates is better to buy a newer device with SD675 cause the SD821 ones are even to have anymore.

IMO QC wants to make the 7xx & 6xx series as separate segments, rather both series being in the same "mid range" segment.
Since we now have a 6xx series device for as low as 120-140 dollars, maybe QC sees no need for a 4xx series in the future, and replace it with 6xx series entirely. And maybe a real 2019 successor to the 710 is coming which will be the second best SoC for the year after 855. A bit wild I guess, but still a possibility, considering these benchmark results.
