2 years ago SE had launched 12 mpixel phone(Satio). They should have change atleast to 15 mpixel. They announced ICS will available to the most of Xperia family by 2012. Then why they are launching this one with 2.3.5

If there is a memory card slot, it would be a really good phone. Not removable battery, another mistake. Like this, it is not a surprise that Samsung sold 300 miliion handsets this year. I am quite sure that Sony alone (without Ericsson) will change the strategy to move closer to Samsung.

i have X10 and i'm waiting for a new release fron sony that works on t-mobile 4g, thats why i couldn't get the arc. and sony brings this ugly block. i only use sony phones and if thats their flagship for 2012, i'm gonna have to go elsewhere. BTW, the arc.... very sexy phone

                    Ouch.

This has been reported on CNET too...

The problem here is, well there are quite a few...

                    Design-wise it's a severe step back...

Not so fussed about replaceable battery, but no expandable memory? Double ouch. Mini sim? Treble ouch.

However the real issue here is no ICS from the get-go...

For some reason this reminds me of the X10 launch, similar design, old software and to be honest, massive fail...

I had high hopes for SE next year, if this is their flagship, the rest have nothing to worry about...

                    :(

this is gonna be a massive hit sure, Sony with just 512 mb ram and 1 ghz single core competed head to head with sgs 2, then this sony will be outstanding phone, iphone beware.

this has no style. the arc had appeal. the specs need the body to match it for people to be interested. damn it SE stop giving customers either style OR technology we need both and the competition is giving it to us.

Is it just me or the build quality leaves to be desired. I mean, it's a flagship that looks like a cheap replica. And though I've always been a fan of SE designs, have owned only SE phones for the past 10 years (well there was an HTC but only as a secondary phone) this one is not what I'd expect from the upcoming SE flagship.

Performance will have to be reviewed, we can't tell until then, though I'm a bit disappointed to see it will not be shipping with ICS but with 2.3.5 instead. SE was boasting updates to ICS for their current Xperia line-up, what should we make of the fact that the next flagship will still be on 2.3.5?

Still, guess it's just rumors. Cheers!
