This in my opinion is Apple facilitating industrial espionage and is linked to the world wide court cases
The reason why this may be problematic is 2020 is just next year, so whilst 5G is just starting starting a contract now won't be able to get a 5G Apple phone until 2021
I personally am only in the market now for a 5G phone, an upgrade. Any 4G phone will have more of the same.
Apple owners are pretty loyal, but ti buy another 4G when the onus is to have the very latest
One plus gave teamed up with T-Mobile the oneplus phone is 5G

Don't need 5G for now. My $7/month truly unlimited 8mbps 3G plan is more than enough for streaming, browsing and financial transaction.

why would you want 5g anyway? i'm very ahppy with my 3 mbps 3g UNLIMITED plan, no throttle, no overage, i've spent 250 gb in a single month and paid the same $60 (converted to US Dollars).

Apple charges customer 800$ for a ridiculous low spec iphone but refuse to pay 40$ fee for the technology?
Well, guess what, then invest billions of dolar to R&D yourself, Apple!
