I would prefer this concept over the inwards folded one with an extra screen, because extra screen = higher price tag. Moreover if you had a secondary 5-6" screen, it would take some space and have weaker structure, apart from not using the advantage of folding a screen to extend the diagonal. I think it's much better to have a 4ish" screen (which fits perfectly anywhere) and extend it to 7ish" than having a 5-6" screen (plus possible big bezels) and extended to 7ish" (worse screen-to-screen ratio).
As for as the protection goes, a typical plastic screen protector and two flexible 1mm-height strips working as a bumper would do the job.

I really would not want to be an early adopter on this technology. I don't care what they say, I think there are going to be a lot of unexpected failures at the folding point in the first couple years of this technology.

To be honest the latest iPhone XS Max has way better video and almost as good photos (all former iPhone cameras were terribly mediocre, to be honest).

The next revolution is here. I knew 2019 would bring something new. Very cool. Probably why I didn't buy the Pixel 3. I knew something far more "magical" will be released this year than in 2017 and 2018.
The previous two years have been a bore. I got myself back to playing more video games because of my boredom with smartphones the last two years.

Not the hardware part but the software algorithm. That's R&D too. As far as developing Exynos processor is concerned, it is more of a Korean thing.
P.S.: The Indian who invented Pentium was in America when he did that.

Terrible concept. The two portions of the display which folds around the back are hideous, the display always looks to be in a bent state (never completely straight), and handling it looks very cumbersome overall.
They expect consumers to get excited over this and, even worse, spend money on it?! Not in this lifetime. Next!
For any foldable smartphone, the larger display should always be folded inward, and only accessible when unfolded. A smaller display of 5" - 6" on the outside should be primary, which would be used to perform everyday, smartphone tasks most of the time.
No way should the display be exposed 24/7 like what Xiaomi is demonstrating here. Epic fail!
