Is it a large phone or a small tablet? And is gaming, camera or productivity its forte?

Nicolas F, 28 Jan 2019But you can't change the amount of actual, physical pixels ... morethat's true. the maximum renderable pixels remain the same. (I do think that between QHD+ and HD+ There's pixel binning. but what happens with FHD? o.o)

    When is it launching in India? Eagerly waiting.
    Earlier I was waiting for Honor Note 10. But it didn't arrive in India. Huawei must launch this device in India. It can give competition to iPhones, Samsung notes, Samsung flagships.

      I bought one of these on ebay. Used it for about a month before reselling it for a few bucks less than I paid for it. It's an outstanding phone, but just too big for daily use. It wouldn't fit in motorcycle jacket pockets or blue jeans. That camera is amazing, however. I switched back to Mate 20, and i think it's the perfect size at 6.5". If the Mate 20 had OLED and the high-end leica camera setup it would be perfect. That said, the Mate 20 cameras are pretty good.

        a Mate 10 user, 28 Jan 2019I don't care about the stylus. After ditching Galaxy Note 4... moreYep, I had a Mate 10 Pro alongside my Note8 in late 2017 to early 2018, the Mate 10 Pro was brilliant, Battery Life obliterated any Samsung I had. Late last year I got the Mate 20 Pro and it got even better. The Samsung SPen is great, but having a larger Battery that lasts 2days with heavy usage is even better hence I am happier with the Mate 20 Pro.

                  I don't care about the stylus. After ditching Galaxy Note 4 for Mate 10, I haven't missed the stylus not a single moment.

                  But I would really like to have more screen real estate...
                  Looking forward to this phone

                      For me the pen is useful. There are times that I need to pass an enterprise presentation. And prior to Note 9, every remote I've bought was either lost or stolen. Plus. I can play DS games with the stylus thanks to the Emulator
                      I'm not the kind of person to watch a lot of videos on my Phone. So I don't really care?
                      And yeah. I agree about performance. I want the kirin 980 badly

                        The best Phablet in 2018/2019 until the Mate 30 X arrives. :)

                          Anonymous, 27 Jan 2019Horrible taste. Mate 20 Pro is the best phone of 2018.No its not

                            This massive beauty is easily the best Mate for me

                              So I held it up really close to me and my eyes, and seen no "Pentile problems"; which are, I think, a matter of individual perception)
                              But I haven't try to use it in the dark, so I can't say anything about it's PWM on low brightness(

                                - meaninglessly high resolution of screen (a smartphone doesn't need more than 400 ppi);
                                - curved screen which is inconvenient with accidental touches and distorts content (not as much as SGS9(+), but still);
                                - less web browsing battery life than Mate 20 with lesser screen (but yeah, more video and overall battery life than Mate 20 PRo with bigger screen and lesser battery - that's cool);
                                - uncomfortable placement of cameras and FP to each other on the back panel;
                                - it charges more bucks for S-Pen which I don't find very useful, but there is no SGN9 without S-Pen (and maybe with more battery or something)... well, there is Mate 20 (not Pro) =)
                                - it still costs more than Mate 20 but has, among other things, slower SoC and both memory chips (it's not like they are useful in just a smartphone, but still);

A Pentile OLED panel MUST have WQHD resolution. Mate 20 X is a very solid all-around device but its low resolution AMOLED display can be a huge weakness.

                                    - some screen defects, reported by users (don't know much about it, but other Mate 20s dind't receive such reports);
                                    - less overall and web browsing battery life than Mate 20 with lesser screen and bigger battery - how did they even manage to do this?
                                    - UDFP not far better (if better at all) than competition which means it's still inconvenient;
                                    - big notch with analog of Face ID which is (in iPhones too) not more secure and/or convenient than FP -> meaningless waste of money;
                                    - it costs $320 more than Mate 20;
