Anyone else thinking this is a mock up or fake? the top line of the app is not in line with the top line of the phone.

They should have kept the top bezel if they were gonna cut such a large hole on the phone. The placement isn't a very smart choice. If they are gonna use it for gaming or media like watching movies or youtube, that blackened space is gonna be a lot larger than other notched phones. If you are to log in on forums using your phone, most login placement is on the upper right. If you are shopping, your cart is gonna be on the part as well. If you are closing a window or even the settings tab, a lot will utilize that upper right part. Which means for it to be functional, it will be blackened with a bar as well. So it is really a waste of space. So... none of their engeneers thought of that? This is why their sales are going down. They are too busy with form but none of the functionality.

Which of course would not eliminate your point!
Still we can use gestures for this problem.

Moj, 29 Jan 2019I am not sure why you might think of that but it is really ... moreBut that means you will be constantly putting fingerprint trails on top of your camera lens. So either have to wipe the screen every time you take a selfie or take pictures with slightly muddy lens.
Notches and Holes don't solve any real problem but provide a lot of their own.
