Honor View 20 real-life camera review

I want to see the camera of this Honor being compared to Nokia Lumia 1020 (or possibly Nokia 808 PureView). So far, not even the Mate 20 Pro can leave the Lumia 1020 in dust.

Is no one gonna mention the horrible stuttering of the first video (with the sports cars)??
Watch the first few seconds carefully-- the car should be moving at a steady pace, but instead jutters across the screen. That's indicating some "catching up" the video processor is doing, and it results in crud like that.
Would love to see a 1080p video to see if this issue persists...
So sad...

I just said 10pro camera was not good because of the post process but Dx0 (and all reviewer at this time) reviewed it at a beast. I know the 20 serie is a little better, but doesn't change the fact that reviews are sometimes really off, especially Dx0.
So cool your head, I never mentioned the 808 and don't really care about it.

As a previous 808 and mate 10 pro user, 808 5 years phone no way can match, only one thing better is still using replaceable 1400mah battery. Battery can replace easily. Currently using mate 20x, top tier camera with formidable battery life. 808 just use big sensor, my cheapo Nikon camera shot photo far better in quality.

I can answer you: it is not. Post processing is total garbage. Oversharpening + over smouthness for a good ol' oil painting effect. It's ok to do thumbnail image, but for photo, it's just a total mess (low light and full daylight). There are 20+ page on XDA forums about user disapointed by this camera. Even mid tier phones do better whith a lower quality sensor.
So no, Dx0 is not a reference. It's just another source to get some shot taken with the camera, but the marks are not right, nor their comments.

All I can say is that at 100% they have about the same detail, except the X Play has more mpx. The X Play has a discrete grainy noise, while V20 has the noise suppressed by an algorhythm that gives a lot of blotches and artifacts. I'm sure the V20 is better at night and maybe it has better DR, but noise character and detail in daylight strictly, the X Play is a bit better.

and what samsung phone shows in viewfinder the expanded dynamic range during HDR photo? S9 for example in viewfinder shows clipped for highlights image and only after you can see the good result in the gallery.

There are more than details when it comes to photography. Dynamic range, exposure, white balance, aperture effects, highlights preservation all of them View 20 nails it. U cant see those on the studio samples.

For a $486 pricing, this View 20 camera blow others competition on the same segment, along with the nice flagship specced.

This is just anecdotal observation on your part and is an exception to the rule at best
You've even went as far as potentially blaming decline in smartphone sales based on this one point
Next time compare 4 year old phones battery capacity, charging speed, processing power, camera versatility, display tech as well

Things are always called gimmicks" in early adoption just like the internet your using now and according to you Bayer tech.
Better we start making social media take full high hi Res pictures without compression because arguably true high quality hi Res photos are gimmicks because then where will you share it?
