I change my phone every 4 or 5 years and that's the main reason to prefer iPhones because they get updates for at least 4 years and from my experience they fare better in time than Androids. Example; my iPhone 5s is still relevant in 2019, a bit slow but still fast enough to be a usable phone. Its equivalent Samsung S4 is a useless piece of junk. 2nd example, my iPhone 4 its still working perfectly well and although it's unusable as many apps do not work and it's slow it can still make a good camera and iPod player, even to run some older apps.

I used to change my phone every year until recently the lack of innovation made me change every 2-3 years. I have an Iphone X (2017) now planning for a change with Iphone 2019. but due to lack of design change I think i will stick to it for another year. You have to understand the reason why people are changing it every 2-3 years... it's because of the lack of change.

Ghostwolf87, 31 Jan 2019By 2020, no one will care what Apple does with their phone ... moreI think many have tried new form factor innovations like Essential, Moto, Razr (gaming), Blackberry, LG, Sony etc....were all eventually ended up in dustbins.....Only the copycats like Xiomi, Oppo, Vivo, Huawei, OnePlus eventually survived the battle.....the problem is not about lack of innovation but users seem to have developed a specific liking towards those products looking similar to premium offerings at better price points.
But right now they have moved beyond copycat tags and now innovating themselves with all new tech built into the mobile phones much faster than iPhones....their mid-range offerings at $400-$500 after comparing iPhones, you won't hesitate to upgrade almost every 18 months at least.

Could you please make a revolution of iPhone/iPad as you did long time ago? I am neither your fan or hater. I am just caring of you as the love-able brand, I do not want you to be the next BlackBerry.

The thing is they can put more cameras and powerful soc for AR and bla bla bla.. But people are content with existing cameras and processing power of their existing phones. It gives less reasons to upgrade unless they are looking for a replacement or ardent fans. Another decline on year on year growth for apple during holiday season is inevitable. It's not just for fashion and luxury brand like Apple but overall smartphone market.
