soooo it doesn't open up fully straight? I much prefer the other render(s) where the bottom chin is used for a smaller display, and the fingerprint sensor is on there as well.
from what I can see, the smaller outer display has a fingerprint sensor below it; which is great, but when the phone is open you can't use it. I seriously hope this isn't the final design.

These Motorola designers are playing a bad joke on themselves.

Make it work with a stylus, then will be a lovely electronic note pad, like the small folding ones policemen used to pop out to take notes. I have a Note 9, but wish there was a smaller device with an S-Pen or equivalent that opened up, or even when full size, was about 3 inches x 3 inches.

I doubt the notch would come on this one. Other than that, I'd love to rock a modern Razr

Its cute, but in terms of practicality, there isn't much advantage over a regular smart phone. For the price of IPhone XS, it could be a risky business.

This may not be realistic but I think it's the right approach to foldable phones. Make them smaller while folded and not bigger while open.

cool but that crappy notch totally kills it
I've begun to suspect that all these phone designers at these companies have never actually used phones like normal people

Nice, but a bit too optimistic on the side bezels. The previous drawings showed the need for a mechanism around the bend.
That said, I think this 'bubbling' the display around the bend sounds like a good workaround for the technology not allowing a sharper bend (yet)
Though we have yet to see how they are going to protect the edges of the screen. In this render it is completely exposed, And I doubt that anyone would release such a vulnerable design...
And also will be interesting to see how the mechanism is protected against pocket lint.

Anonymous, 01 Feb 2019so basically this is just a drawing of what some nobody "th... moreAt long last, I'm not alone on having issues with pretentious punks who never think of practicality and internal parts compatibility but more on making beautifully correct designs that are impossible to pull off in reality. God, I hate those kind of freelancers. If they're so good, why not they apply for a designer job in Apple and Samsung only to fire you for designing a complete phone.

so basically this is just a drawing of what some nobody "thinks" this phone is gonna look like? who cares?? unofficial renders are stupid and pointless.

watching a video in portrait and landscape will be such a bad experience as it's not wide enough and if you make the phone too wide it won't be good to hold.
