First they launched Mi lineup with flagship Snapdragon at affordable prices.
After a few years when they increased their prices, they launched Poco with flagship SD at again affordable.
Now it seems they intend to hike Poco F2 price, and so launch another "budget" flagship.
Next year they will introduce another "budget" flagship line and the same chain of events will repeat.

Well that's surprising. Now it seems Xiaomi might have 3 different flagships one in every division targeting different customer... Anyway that photo doesn't look bad except those colors again.

So the SD855, underdisplay fingerprint sensor, new camera sensors and perhaps metal construction are NEWS. Because so far none of its models (Redmi) have those characteristics now together. The amoled, high-end cameras and IP rating even without certification will be exclusive for MI phones from Xiaomi and, of course, more expensive.

NO NEWS ! The new Snapdragon 855 Redmi flagship
will be just an identical twin brother of the Pocophone F2 . Just change of the logos. Let's hope they will dare
to spent some bucks for AMOLED displays this time
at least...

Abunja, 02 Feb 2019I don't know what you mean by them going after my favorite ... moreYour view is too narrow:
Brand status by R&D, price and premium materials: Xiaomi > Redmi > Pocophone.
Each one with their own catalogue. Redmi is not going to leave the mid-range models, they are only extending their catalogue to compete with Honor from Huawei. And they have Pocophone to compete at lower prices with Realme from BBK, aside if the phone is flagship inside those brands or a low-end one. That is.

ash, 02 Feb 2019well, it's good for the consumers because we can have a lot... moreWell, it's not good if they have to leave the low to mid-range segment in exchange of doing premium phones. But if they're still up to their mission, I might consider $250~ish premium phones. $300 is a bit pricey for me.

The Good Sheperd, 02 Feb 2019This might be another alternative to the pacophone. i don't... moreI don't know what you mean by them going after my favorite brand when I'm currently using Redmi. If you read the topic, it said that:
"they've talked in details about the two phones, which means that the company will be stepping out of the mid-range territory and enter the premium market segment."
I like the idea of them making an SD 855 flagship, but them leaving the mid-range segment is not a welcome development for me.

Well its good to have more phones like Pocophone.
Sony Samsung Apple and so offering very pricey phones with billions of feature high phones but billions of customers cant even use 5-10% of all the phone features.
So paying 1000+ bucks makes no sense if chinese made flagship for 1/3 price is equal in speed and build quality but with a bit less of features.
