The UK may have become a joke and a meme when it comes to certain things but we do have strong consumer protection laws. This would outright not be allowed in the UK because it's absolutely misleading in every sense of the world and its entire intention is to mislead by making people think they're getting/using something they're really not.

Anyone using AT&T, especially android users will get that fake 5GE icon. It only showed up on AT&T iphone that running 12.2 beta ios. The fake 5G wont appear if you not on AT&T and still running 12.2 beta. Btw, 5GE here is really just a rebranded 4G+. Same speed no difference. Just icon changed.

Dear GSM Arena staff,
Let's forget the terminologies for a second.
Try bringing an actual report of how this modified 4G performs.
See, what if they'd put 5GE users on such high priority that they get under 20ms and above 50 mbps all the time?
Better do a speed test and that will clarify stuff.
We consumers know that we get claimed speeds of a generation, only on its next generation. :D
2G speeds on 3G, 3G speeds on 4G, 4G speeds on 5G,etc...
