Anonymous, 06 Feb 2019To be honest.. I don't think this website is for you..The sites about opinions so anyone should be welcome but for me the foldable phones are great. I'd love them as it's a great way to be able to just expand your phone when on a train or bus etc. and be able to suddenly be able to watch trailers, movies, games or read comics / books more naturally. I don't like them squeezed on a small screen that's way taller than wide, it doesn't feel like a normal comic, a normal book or a normal viewing experiencing for the trailers or games (like cinema and TV screens are typically wider). It's more of a case that they work and are manageable but yeah I'd much prefer a wide screen and the chance to reduce the phone to a normal size for just normal calls and texts etc.

Android Dude, 06 Feb 2019It looks great.. but im not getting back to watch movies on... morethe shape of the screen doesn't matter as long as they aren't cropping or squashing the video to fill the screen.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2019Flagships are getting more and more expensiveYes, I'm not arguing with you about the higher prices, but you fail to mention that every year the technology inside them gets better and better.
Per example switching from 10nm to 8-7nm is a big improvement for the processor. Also you can get up to 12GB RAM /1TB + SD card (a 400GB card would rock), bringing your up to 1.4TB!
Oh, and all of this without removing any IMPORTANT features like:
      - 3.5mm jack
      - SD card slot
Or adding a stupid notch to it..
You go ahead and buy a cheaper replica. Meanwhile we'll be getting the original product everyone wants and other brands desperately try to copy.

Nokia 6600 was about 600 euros on release. The iPhone was the around the same price. The N97 was the same price if not cheaper . Don't go spreading shit

FromChinaWithLove, 06 Feb 2019Let's be honest. What exactly is the point of a foldable ph... moreWell if you think about it it will mean people can have a small phone most of the time. The outside screen for this is only 4.58 inches (if these detail a correct), and folded the phone will be no thicker than phones of a few years ago when 4.5 inches was the norm. So now you have a smaller, easy to use one handed and easy to hold phone with the option of a larger display for watching video content, reading eBooks, doing some light productivity with a portable keyboard and mouse and possibly browsing in desktop mode.

Once this has hit the market and phones get more bezeless and thinner I expect to see some of these phones drop back down to 4" folded giving people there small phones with a big screen when needed.

Keep in mind this is only Step 1, first iteration. We have to start somewhere, just use your imagination a little and think where this could go in the future.

am I the only person that feels that the windows version of foldable phone will make waayy more sense then buying a tablet for extra screen space(or just atleast have some pc experience then tablet experience)

I'd be more interested in this product if it would transform into a mini laptop with real keyboard buttons. Something like the GPD Pocket 2

This actually looks pretty good. I think if technology advances enough, it could actually become some next innovation for smartphones. When you think it further, this could combine a phone, a tablet and a laptop all in one device. There is the standard mode, the next unfolding is a tablet, and the last one is a laptop/surface which you can attach a keyboard to. But I think we are still a good 5 years away from that.

What's the point? Huawei has their Mate 20x which has a 7.2" screen, so what's the point of having a complicated folding mechanism that's only 7.3" and adds a HUGE amount of cost.

This thing should be a 6.5" screen that fold out to 10" or 12". Then it would be interesting!

It needs to be 3 folds that way they could make it close to 16:9 but when folded phone would be a brick. But still that way it would be much more usable in tablet mode.

Anonymous, 06 Feb 2019But.. It still has bezels, and the corners aren't round enough. OMG, shut up about bezels. It's thin enough to hold all the components together while not being super big. If you care that much about zero-bezel, get a Doogie Mix 4 when it comes out and be done with it.

Jojo, 06 Feb 2019Am I seriously the only person that realizes this is a roll... moreI doubt that it is, but IF it is rollable, then you are right, but it does not look like that either....

if you look closely at the source (zoom in)
                                        https://nl.letsgodigital.org/uploads/2019/02/galaxy-f.jpg
You can see a thick and a thin part and some 'harmonica' at the joint. So that should be an extremely narrow hinge. That can not be seen in the folded render.... So definitely not rollable.
