Apple has disabled FaceID on my phone during iOS13 upgrade since hardware check has determined that its faulty.
It was working before the upgrade.
Now they ask that I pay for the repair.

Apple are scum. In around 2016 they were doing so much dirty tactics, I had an ipad and iphone made useless by ios updates and also experienced this charging issue which made me think the device was faulty. The trick made the ipad owner want to buy a new ipad, I told them what Apple were up to and bought an Android tablet instead. Its all intentional, the trouble is proving it.

so if you happen to had an old iphone charger and it was working properly and suddenly because of this update it stop working what you would say?(keep in mind if you connect the same charger to an other iphone without that last update it would work but not working on yours) are you going to by a new charger? or join the lawsuit action?

How about Apple disables all iPhone over 2 years old. Maybe they could come up with a good excuse such as the batteries on older iPhones are more prone to exploding so you need to keep buying new $1000+ iPhones. It's for your own safety...and our profit you understand.

I think the challenge of this case will be proving that the 'disabled' chargers weren't malfunctioning. It is not as if all Apple chargers stopped working, and of those that did, if they were within warranty they would have been replaced. Apple will likely play the safety card - the charger no longer responded as expected to MFi compliance requests, so was rejected in an abundance of caution - queue slideshow of phone charger fires.

I can confirm that this indeed happened. My iPhone 6 started displaying the “This accessory may not be supported” message around that same time.
